   Interesting topic, and I can see where you shouldn't bill yourself as being younger than the acceptable age, which seems to be 18.  I agree with Janine Dee that it is for the best.

   @Lover.  I have to agree with you on always learning something at every age.  The only thing is though when you get to 50, your brain is full and can not hold anything else, so when you do learn something new, you forget something that you already knew.  At least that is the case for me.  I think it comes out of my ear at night when I'm sleeping.

   They say that your memory is the second thing to go... I can't remember what the first thing is.

Oh, Pafe........how i can not agree whit you!? we learn something new till the last day, but it's not true we forget something, just can't havee access to all the things we have learn little by little. the human body is a wonderfull machine (well, some more then other!) but we just can use a small part of our brain. so, probably, part of all the stuff we learn ends in a part of it we can't have access.

And yes, with My Girl's side's Avatar, I usually tell, during the Role-Play I may had, I am 16 yo.

Not even for arrousing peoples who may have an age-play fantasy or Lolita-complex ( as japanese peoples call it ).

16 is for me a special age: It was the age before I lost myself into all the stuff I may now have stopped ( or try to ).
It was an age ( even I still had my sexual identity ambiguity ) when I accepted myself, my differences, more.
It was, for me like an golden age, before clouds of violence and rain of deception darks my light and fall on me.

That was why I created this Avatar for my second personality, as she is whom I dream to be. So I feeled like she start her "Dreamed-Life" at the golden age of mine.

Anyway, I did announce that in ... Reality I am not, of course 16 yo ( but 23 ) and even not a Girl ( but Transgender), but I may be more aware that many peoples don't read the announcement on profile.
Anyway I do take the responsibility of what I done.
I will so no more talk about my ... young with this Avatar ( even in Role-play, for it was just in Role-Play )

I think I'll still ... feel ... that my Girly side is younger than I am actually ( and freed also for many aspect of a real life may be  )

Reading this topic and thinking about what was my attitude, I feel irresponsible, and maybe had promoted a crime that I really don't want to promote. I had acted childishly. So I get the blame on myself.

I don't ask for any people to forgive me. For I think I never fooled or cheated anybody about Her and the phantasm she is for me.
As I always advise that is was just Role-Play and warn about the difference between the Avatar and me.
But, in spite of thinking I had hurt no one, I may bear, as anybody, my responsibility about this aspect.

That said... a friend of mine once stated her own experiences about here tended to  suggest most men that play here are older than they post in their profiles.   A subterfuge to circumvent those who have an age bias.

Exactly, well seasoned but still young at heart. The age I have posted is my true age, but I'm sure you're right that a lot of older men post much younger ages in hopes of attracting the younger ladies. That's fine I guess, just not for me. Hopefully in my introduction to someone I'm interested in, will entice them to learn more about me regardless of the number attached to my profile. If not then I wouldn't be interested anyways.

It's the same with women. Many girls say they are younger, but also some girls say they are older. You notice it when you talk to them. So once more AChat is a strange world - the only world, where girls wanne be older then they really are

My age is my true age. If a girl believes I'm too old for her it's ok - It's better then recognizing it and leave. And those few girls, who asked me to be her dad, I have sent away.

I'd like to seprate maturity from age. Age is but a number, a representation of the number of years you have been romaning the earth. but it says nothing about conduct, experience, wisdom or maturity. I have met teens with more wisdom and a more interesting look on life as women with enough years and experiences in life, to write a couple of books.

My age is my true age as well, and maybe I will reach a tipping point, but I am still proud when another year is added. That means that another year of experience has been added, a year of learning and adapting to new challenges. You'll agree with me Pafe, that with experience, it becomes easier to handle situations. No matter if you forget something old, to learn something new. I am sure the knowledge is there when you need it most.

Sooo true Tight, I've met some very mature teens here also. So refreshing when you do. I have also met some ladies more my age that are very immature. Drama queens or ladies that love to pay games with your emotions. A huge turn off for me..   Recently IRL I dated such a lady. Our relationship didn't last long, not very long at all...

In general "older" people (means more then 40 years, lol) do know better about their wishes, needs and desires. But, and that is the real intersting point, in general doesn't mean the person you are talking to is like this. So everyone deserves a real chance and this is my understanding of human interaction - to find out about the other person.

And at least, we all can learn from every age. Younger people may learn from older people, but even older people may learn a lot from younger ones. We just have to forget, our age is the only true age
