OK, so this is something I noticed and was thinking about over the last few weeks. If you meet someone and add them as say a friend, the only way to change it to lovers is to end the friendship, wait for them to acknowledge, then send them a request to be lovers. (And the same for lover to spouse). How about an up/down grade button. Here's how I see this working:
  • Friend
    • Upgrade
    • Cancel
  • Lover
    • Upgrade
    • Downgrade
    • Cancel
  • Spouse
    • Downgrade
    • Cancel

When the request is made, the other party must agree to it so like "Your friend <Name> has asked to upgrade your relationship to <upgrade>. Do you accept?" or something like that and similar for downgrading.

Does anyone else agree with this? Has a request like this already been made?

It's a great idea but would be nice to have a comment from dev team coz I think the actual relationship system doesn't allow changing status online, ergo it would need a complete code rewriting.

At the moment, if i wanna change the relationship status, i'll do it when we are both online, to semplify the procedure.

it will be nice a fast way to upgrade it, but at last your partner have to agree anyway, confirming he*she want it too.

here's the actual procedure for upgrade a relationship :

1- Send the cancel request
2- The recever must relog and read her/his messages for it to be valided
3- The sender must relog
4- One must send the request for the new relation ( lover/spouse )
5- the recever must relog , read her/his messages and accept the relation
6- the sender must relog and read her/his messages ( not sure this one is needed)

STOP TO FAVORIZE THE MF ORIENTATION , FF PAY THE SAME PRICE THAN THEM AS ALL OTHERS ORIENTATIONS !!!!

Yes I am aware that is the CURRENT method, my suggestion is to make it so that we don't have to completely cancel first because that is a lengthy process and not everyone pays attention. Great example, I sent a message to a person about wanting to upgrade and cancelled....they saw the cancel before reading messages, yelled at me, and put me on ignore...an hour later the messaged me saying they just read the message explaining that i wanted to upgrade.

Yeah that can happen but luckyly in the end it all sorts out, so my suggestion while we wait for an easier method to upgrade is always to upgrade while the other person is online, that way it's really easy, cancel, log out, log in new request, done.  ;)
