A confession: I am so very LUCKY


I am Kaitlyn; I am just me
But it's not quite that simple, as you will see.

As fate would have it, though I understand not why
I live a fairytale, while so many others scream n cry

How do I reconcile this? What did I do?
To deserve wise, loving, parents, so true.

To be given so much, to be filled with such love
I am compelled to give back, to give hope as a dove

My life is full, happy, rewarding and free
Not a day taken for granted, no not me

Shhhhh I''ll share a secret, a small thing about me
I am a Nurse, not the "striped" one, but Oncology

The things I witness, experience, Yes sometimes it's hard
not all I work with have a happy ending, some a graveyard

Their faces all different, ages, body parts too
you see cancer does not discriminate,  it's true

But in the wake of this horrible thing, lies a lesson for all to learn
We live on a Razor's Edge, a choice at every turn, a life for each to earn

There is much living around the dying, we should all see it's light
How quickly this gift can be taken, no matter how hard we fight

Step into my shoes, join my world with me
Just one simple moment, is all you would need

To see all life as precious, yes even yours
 look into the eyes of someone, with no cures

Now back to my story, yes, the one about me
I just wanted to share a bit of my life's history

So as I tell my tale, you might see it with me
This amazing experience that somehow set me free

As I said before, my life is full, happy, rewarding and free
Not a day taken for granted, but deep inside lies a silent plea

These thoughts are mine, I guard them ALL well
afraid to release them  in my world, would be hell

Then a drunken weekend with a "special" friend of mine
a new universe is opened though at the time I was blind

It was SEX, SEX, SEX. Then more SEX too
That is until I joined the forum, and grew, who knew?

As I stumbled to find my way, friends appear, help me to play
these good people, kind people, patient and wise to this day

Again, as fate would have it, though I understand not why
I live a fairytale, while so many others scream n cry

All was so good, actually great, I was having such fun
Meeting people, making friends, changing clothes or none

But some thing deep still calling, invisible to me
a shadow in my mind, another me, a plea to be free

It was in the Forum postings, a whisper caught my ear
the author yet unknown to me, in game would disappear

I followed, I read, I wanted to know, everything about this intriguing soul
Then one fateful day, I will never forget, a Personal Ad,  a loss of control

From uncertain  beginnings, through misunderstood chats, we walked on
Finding courage to share pieces, trust to extend a hand, to a new dawn

The happiness, the lust, the excitement that ensued
paled in comparison when my mind was touched in the nude

The feelings released, the compulsion to shout
An explosion inside me that simply had to come out

What was this? What was happening to me?
all of these feelings demanding to be set free

What is it to inspire? As a "muse" I really should know.
But the answer seems to elude me, hidden in the shadow

What I can tell you, for certain, as light as day
Is what I feel like to be "inspired, and swept away

For that is what has happened, as I toil throughout the night
excavating my soul for tasty little morsels and dark delights


Oh my Lady, I am so very tired, but my song is incomplete
I must retire to my slumber, this to be continued as another treat

For this tale is far from over, only just having begun
a journey of exploration and self-realization for some

Your words inspire me, your actions earn trust
Your bonds empower me, your restrictions free me

You alone understand me, this "other" Kaitlyn, my plea
The only soul in this world that will ever see me.
