Is there any way to distinguish a "premium" player from their profile? I have found too many people with "Blue stars" who then tell me they are "free" users". I am not totally unaccepting of free users, but think the blue star system is misleading. :(

I dont think there is a way of telling a users subscription has lapsed once they have a blue star, until they go into charachter editor and a freeby background defaults. Of course some premiums have not bought a background as they want to build up their poses or clothing first.
So I do not think there is a positive way of telling at the moment - just that it maybe the case, if they have a free background displayed for the question to be asked prior to rooming.
If anyone knows different, I'd be interested to know myself :)

The problem is, if you have A$ on your account you get a blue star. So you can have A$, but no subscription. I don't know if it's a technical question or if it's the intention of AChat not to differ subscribed members and members with A$ on their account.
I don't know if we were right, but we had a discussion in the early days... it seemd to be, "true" prem member come first, then those without subscription but money, then robot, then members who don't have money but have been prem and then free user. Also it was said, female user never loose the blue star.
So, the higher members are listed, the bigger is the chance they are real prem. I know, my answer is not really helpful but this is all I can say.
Perhaps someone is able to give a better answer?

Thank you for both of the answers above. Their complexity leading to my confusion underscores the need to simplify the system. For example, why should a female retain a blue star when not premium simply based upon gender? Therefore, I register my appeal to the computer Gods. Please help work on a solution. I respectfully suggest a blue star for people who are CURRENTLY premium, nothing more. :-X

Sorry, I only mentioned female because it was extracted from the previous answer. I am not gender biased. I just want to figure out an easy way to determine upfront who is premium and who is not. I am kind of tired of inviting someone who appears premium (blue star showing), who then tells me, "yeah I used to be". I also know you can directly ask ahead of time, but it crass to put that in a conversation.
I did note the ";D " accompanying your message, so I know you were kidding me a little. I am not devoid of humor, so thank you dear. :-*

@HB: Most of my answer came from the A-Team actually. When I started here, no member had a blue star. They added the blue star for prem and we discussed about.
Tom said As soon as it is valid, the user has the blue star. If the user doesn't have the blue star, the 3 days (or the months a bit later) have passed already.
If I remember right it was in same thread where someone mentioned the hint with females and always keeping the blue star and the listing differents, without antilogy from A-Team.
Perhaps they have changed iot meanwhile.

@West I absolutely agree that only premium users should have a blue star,
also think that users who have lost subscription should also keep a blue star.
Without subscribing members can't use the pose, the clothes and everything else they bought.
It's enough to want to re-subscribe again. It would not be fair to immediately after the subscription expires classify as a free users.
I think the system is well done on this issue.

It is a complex personal issue with me. If you look at my profile, I attempt to forthrightly address this. No, I do not tend to "avoid free users". New relationships can be exciting and rewarding. However, as in real life, I feel selfish being able to cum (virtually on AChat) when my partner cannot. Slamming the excitement meter to the right is a poor substitute for the visual cumming of your partner. I want to be WITH my partner, AT THE SAME TIME, if at all possible. I hope this answers your question without triggering a tirade about equal opportunity for "free" vs "premium" users. On some days, a simple hug and a kiss fulfills me. we need some sort of system to let us know that a person's premium membership has expired . those of us that pay good money to be premium and enter a room with 1 or more partners only to find were not all premium can get very annoying.yes those whos premium has just expired or those with Acoin should keep the blue star . there could be something like a rating for example with those that are premium getting a + by the star. this would then let everybody know that they are premium .

The reason that girls don't loose their blue star, has to do with (again) the men being the moneymakers in the online sex-business. Girls (and shemales I think) keep their blue star so that in the search result, more girls will seem to be prem. As stated in this thread and many others, members tend to look for others members, in order to have the best experience (poses and actions). The more 'upgraded' girls the game seems to have, the more guys are attracted and/or persuaded to go prem themselves.
On another note, once you have had money in your account or you've had a subscription that expired, for guys goes as well, you keep your blue star. I don't see them changing this system. Hard for those that are looking for 'real' premium members, but not too much of a discomfort for the a-team to release the lure blue stars have.

That applies to men too Tight, once a premium with any script remaining I believe the blue star stays. I have seen that in the past, so unless something has changed in the past 4 months....How that impacts the ignore free user option I am not aware.

I may answer that all that goes with "Free User" will go to : Busyness for exemple.
I was, a time ago tryed to talk to my Mistress who had just lost her Premium status ( not for me ;D, for the DreamWorld ), not aware of this ( she still have the blue star ) and willing to have time speaking with her, I setted " Busy for Free Users" and was, so unable to talk with her unless set to " not busy" at all.

Yes... talked to a free user few days ago. Yesterday she asked me "why do i have a blue star?" - she didn't subscribe and has no A$, nobody made a gift. Either it's a bug or the A-Team changed something.

The blue star, or so I've believed, has to do with purchasing things from the shop, not whether you are premium or not. I got my blue star, just after I started, while still free, and I bought a little bit from the shop when I got started... they let you do that just after you join. So, I dont think that's going to change.

Trek, how have you been able to buy things in shop without money? There are some free clothes and poses for every member but you need money to purchase items.

There might have been a couple free items... once offered in the shop... I am not certain they are still there...perhaps selecting them triggered the blue star... otherwise I cannot see how one can but anything unless they have scrip.

since gifting was bound with a minimum of 100 a$, gifting 0 is not possible.. And as far as I know, nothing has ever been free IN the shop. All free items are offered in the character editor from the beginning. As far as I know, the blue star is connected to having a balance (not having scrip means no balance) and once you had a positive balance, the blue star doesn't disappear. In my eyes a strategy to show that there are active premium members (more as in reality), which triggers others to become prem as well..

Some Issues concerning those blue stars on top richt of the User photo:
Well i knew that those stars did not mean that the user marked with it has to be a premium user - changing your accounts balance once is the indicator to set the star. But most of the other users dont know it.
Well just a few Minutes ago I had a discussion in achat with a girl who just frrely asked if she may ask me a question - did not meet here before but she needed some information about those blues stars from an "experienced" user (uhm .. feeling honored a bit :-) ).
Her profile photo is marked with a blue star but she is not a premium user any more. She just asked me how to remove the blue star from her account.. Well .. that's impossible I think. The only answer that came into my mind was: 1. Contact support and 2. Post in the Forum.
I had no Idea why she was so keen on loosing the blue star until I asked her why:
Many partners expect from a user marked with the blue star to be a prem .. meaning being able to orgasm ..
She told me that when she was unable to squirt some partners just left the room insulting her as a cheater and just banned her. Thats just ridiculous.. Well in my opinion the Blue Star should either represent what people expect from it - a premium user or a subcriber - or people should be informed clearly about its meaning. With the behaviour of the blue star as it is at the moment the users are just distracted. The girl who asked me about the Star was so frustrated that she decided to quit AChat ..
In fact .. that behavior of the star frustrates users - and makes them just leave.

But that was not your topic. The blue star is a marketing trick. And it shows this member has or has had A$. They wont change it. My simple opinion. I also believe some are happy about the star, not lookong like a free user and being before Robot in search list.

Why not give a red star to people who subscribe to the game and a blue star to free user

Free user dont have a star. If a man or a girlsubscribe they get a blue star and are premium member. If the subscription ends or the girl/shemale gets a gift, which means A$ on her account, she is a free member.
They could change the colour but as I said, Im sure it's part of their marketing and also the star is linked in database and just checks A$/no A$ on account, they will keep it as it is.

From my experience, you get the blue Star as soon as you Buy Membership via credit card or buy a subscription via A cash from the shop. the Star dose not go away even if your membership expired or subscription expired. its there to show who is and who was premium.
but i have to agree Lydiarose, if your membership or subscription expired. remove the star or change the color. I don't care what kind of marketing scheme it is. It cause more problems then i think it worth. people are mean, as i state in other topic recently. free user are look down upon as lesser. i really hate it.
personally I all way post in my profile that my premium is gone and in courage other to so to.
as a side note, people really need to start reading profiles more.

I got my blue star even whithout buying membership. A few days ago I was trying to buy membership, but my card was bloked. My payment was rejected - but I got a blue star that way :)
