Title: Text translation
Post by: babybuggybumper on December 14, 2009, 02:47:52 AM
Text translation - English  is the only language I know. so, when I chat with someone who doesn't understand english, I try to ask what language they speak and then go to  www.translate.google.com when to translate my text into a different language. copy and paste it in the message box. Except for russian text. When I paste the russian text in the message box, it pastes a bunch of wuestion marks instead of the russian text. Does anybody know what i can do to get the russian text?

You know that the russians have other symbols for their alphabet? They use the kyrilic one, not the latin one.
And i dont like this web translators much. Why? Try this:
Pick up an english text from a newspaper and type it in.
Translate it for example to japanese
then translate it to africaans
then to spanish
and finally back to english...
and then laugh...
The Web Translators maybe good for single words...but not for texts.

Yeah, there is room for improvement, but if you use simple sentences and avoid using american slang  it works a little better. So then, what i need to do is to be able to paste the kryilic text just as google translates it.

The question marks are "strange" letters for the translation. Usually you can change between latin and kyrillic letters, right below the translation window. Then it will work. Unfortunately it doesnt work with arabian symbols.
