Sweep - Eurovision Song Contest. Director of Contest - Brandybee.
It's that magic time of year again when the Eurovision Song Contest will grace our screens and polute, oops, I mean enrich our ears.
The 2014 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on 6th, 8th and 10th of May 2014.
Did you know the first ever Eurovision Song Contest took place 1956 ?

I propose a little sweep stake here, depending on how many are interested. Sign up here...
The countries are shared out between the volunteers, by chance out of a hat.
The volunteers donate A$50 to play to Pythia.
The winner takes all.
Sign up to show your interest. Once the players ( Sweepers ) are known, countries are shared equally. The Stake of A$50 is paid to Pythia.
When the Eurovision Song contest final is broadcast and winner decided. The player here holding the winning country , wins the Stake , ie – all the A$ collected. If in the event the actual winner is not held by a Sweeper , then the sweeper holding the next highest rated country will win the Stake.
You only qualify as playing this sweep stake , when your donation is received by Pythia. Please PM me when you have made your A$50 donation so I can confirm it has been received and also please post your interest to play in this topic. Thank you.
The winner receives the collected amount as soon as possible after the winning country is announced in the media, and following a confirmation PM by me of the winner. This means players of any gender can be awarded the prize money.
This is a bit of fun and it’s always nice to receive a little windfall. Hopefully there will be enough interest for the winner to buy a new pose or outfit.
As usual, the Director allocated to draw out the countries, will be excluded from playing to ensure integrity.

Semi-final 2
The second semi-final will take place on Thursday 8 May in the same venue.
It will feature 15 different countries to the first semi-final, which takes place two days beforehand.
The countries taking part will be: Malta, Israel, Norway, Georgia, Poland, Austria, Lithuania, Finland, Ireland, Belarus, FYR Macedonia, Switzerland, Greece, Slovenia and Romania.
Ten of the highest-scoring countries will be awarded a place in the final. See above for qualifying countries so far.
The Grand Finale
The grand final will take place on Saturday 10 May, and will be broadcast in the UK on BBC One from 8pm.

I know my country is Germany and I should be rooting for them, but this is an outrage!
Cake to Bake from Latvia didn't make it to the semi-finals. Do they not appreciate a song that tells us to Bake a damn cake?

WHAT? WHERE IS BELARUS? The phone system didnt work, they would have got 99% im sad now, really sad.. a young, emerging band/singer/combo/duo or whatever with a great old new song with words full of lyrics and poetry... the song contest is dead now, i wont watch any second. Ok, i would not have watched it at all but now i even wont read about the result.
