has anyone found their achat chatlog since the new upate...... all chats allow you access to your chat files.... if ours have been deleted because people abused them... that's so not right >:(

Thank you for letting us know this Hgo but I would like to say
that with all that a Achat is doing with changes it would be nice we
are told by staff of Achat or the forum Moderators ..
It is nice to know you notice it I would say that it is
staff and the moderators responsibility notify us members
with new update of changes to not confuses us and other asking is it true or not ..
So with all respected to Staff and Moderators
let them bring out the news to us members first..

actually roxy, I made the post to try to find the chatlog.... not to notify anyone...
but either way I believe the forum is the venue to discuss what you notice that maybe other members might have a different opinion on , or mat not be aware of.
share info.... share ideas... support each other... that's how the forum works imo

As I wrote it would be nice for administrators to let us know or to let the Moderators
notify us ....If it was me I would go ask a moderator fist this is the 1st person I would ask
thinking they should know new procedures .I did not say it was wrong
I said I would like to be notify by them first. this will be make it easy from being asked
many times from members asking over and over if its real or whats going on
It will keep members calm and give us accredited information by staff . I hope you can understand my opine.

Information coming from administrators to Moderators to members public
following the chain of command.

its very simple who wants know is just select the achat icon and go in the same folder

open it and read it.

I want my chatlog back, and from what I'm hearing so does much of Achat.
I love the gifting changes
I think free users not being allowed to see kittys and peniszes will stop people from joining, Maybe at least a free trial period would have been better.

I have also received complaints from members about it being removed without warning and losing role plays, funny incidents etc...
It is also useful in disputes / complaints when reporting incidents to Achat. I find it concerning such a useful tool has been removed.
As soon as we receive an answer, we will inform our Forum Villagers and members.
Achat, Please can this facility be returned as soon as possible. Thank you.

They are deliberately deleting the file from the user's hard drive, as I have demonstrated by recreating the file and watching the program delete it again.
They might consider it as part of their game and that they will not update it any longer but it is my property and to delete the file is unconscionable.
Who knows what else these people are doing without informing us?

I think I heard some one say one time they can save all the conversation chat log
with another programe . maybe not here... And if it is to save us KBs and gives us something better
in the game I would not mind the change ... till we know more from them I think we should
have patience to hear from them...
To me this is the only place I heard they have a saved chatllog.

As far as I am aware, I believe saved chat logs are common place in such things.
I know yahoo saves them. I'm sure our members can name others and in similar games.
The facility is useful and good practice. Writers use it for role plays they enjoyed, and as a back up to RP where they left off.
It is also useful in any disputes to show who exactly said what. It gives members some form of protection and things easily proved or disproved, especially past conversations when at first it may not seem significant but later it may become relevant.
It is useful when reporting abuse or young users to Achat.
It should be returned as soon as possible.

the chat log is part of there Program. would be nice they give it back
for the ones that need it
To me it don't matter I can screen save the chat if it is important ,
if not what is the use for it just more space on my hard drive
so with it or with out it don't matter to me .

It is a plain text file, it takes up very little space, you could play for years and it would take up less space than one image file (lol, less than one of your saved screen files).

recommended they add a flag button to report all abuse on the spot and the chat be send to
administrators so there will no she he said it would and no one can change the tex- chat

on some OS there is no way to copy your achat convos...... cntl +v will allow you to paste but cntl +c wont allow u to copy.
besides every other chat i''ve seen on net has allowed you a copy of your chat history

It was removed because of higher level of data protection (your partners didn't agree to save all conversations with them). Maybe we get it back with some changes, as weve asked for it.

We're talking about two avatars talking to each other.
The gnomes in Everquest have a chatlog.
I don't know about the world going down the tubes but the world of Achat certainly is.
If I am going to have to rely on conversations to prove anything in court then I want to be the custodian of those records (of MY conversations) and not have to rely on some hick outfit that has no concern for its paying customers.

I agree the chat log should be returned as soon as possible. It's proof when dip sticks attack you for no reason.
It's our protection against being misquoted.
It can also act as a deterrent for abusive members to behave.
In all the time I have been here I have only heard of one person who has abused it.
It also provides entertainment whether in reruns of a good room or edited with names taken out in the topic " Worst Chat Up"
I vote YES. The pros for, far outweighs the cons against.
Please can we have our chat log back.

Personally I take it as theft of my property, what I type in a chat is my property it isn't something of value to any one else just myself, yes brandy is correct as a writer I do my best work when interacting with another in role-play, and have used these chats as the basis of many stories.
you may not have noticed that you cannot even copy a live chat now as they have removed that function as well, so the only way is now the storage hungry screenshots and they can only grab such a small window of chat it would take 40 or 50 to capture a full chat.
I have been chatting online for 20+ years now and NEVER had this situation before every IRC program has the ability to review your chat logs, for whatever reason you choose as it is YOUR property, it is NOT Achat's to remove or delete.
I am not asking it to be replaced I am DEMANDING it be replaced IMMEDIATLY.
yes i'm sure there are ppl out there who couldn't give a shit about this feature, and good luck to them, they prolly don't adjust the treble and bass on their sound systems either or the picture on their TV, their apathy is not the issue here, some of us require the features WE PAID FOR when we subscribed as members. My subscription is a contract between the provider (Achat) and user (AusWoody). They are in breach of a contract and are liable to be sued by the members over this..

If some people dont need the chatlog, it doesnt mean they are apathetic. I know many members, who never knew about this function. We had and still have a lot of request where to get it - when by accident they notice there is a chatlog.
Also, as far as i can see, the chatlog is NOT part of the contract. I cant find it in the contract, nor in TOS.
Nevertheless, the chatlog is a good and important function and i also want it back. For myself, but also for my "job" as mod. We have sent another request to A-Team and i think we made some valid points and arguments.

Good news from Achat guys and gals, the intention is to return the chatlog with some changes -
A couple under review is
1. only premium members can use it
2. the user will have to switch it on using a checkbox
There will be some changes in the TOS in regard to it.
We have not been made aware of the time line for it's reinstatement.
Are you able to clarify this Achat?

Achat suddenly detests it's free users doesn't it.... they are aware of course that most if not all of it's premium users were free users on the first day... shouldn't they be allowed to play, for at least a short time frame without so many restrictions?

I don't see they are detesting free users. All they are doing now is trying to avoid to get into troubles bc of young users. A side effect will be, they get more paying members (that's what I think they believe).
Free users still can check the game - the chat and room too. They can check free non-sexual poses and also try sex poses. Though it might be sillyto play, when you just see pixels lol...
I repeat demand that now it's absolutely necessary to add more ways to buy a subscription.

I feel that all members of Achat every one can have a opine as how they feel about it .
If they like it, don't like it or don't matter it really is there own opine they may have a reason .I dont understand what apathy

To me it did not matter but I was not Against It . I see both good and also I see some of the down sides ..
I would of waited for Administrator to inform us before jumping the gun on them....
I would like to say also that I don't give any one Permission to use my name from the Achat logg outside of Achat and the Achat forum
it would only be to the TOS if they like to use it ....

I think she's saying that she'd like the TOS to have a rule about people publishing your conversations somewhere without your consent. Most of us believe that's just ethics but if it was written into the TOS achat could outright ban or suspend accounts of people who blog like a certain user.

Good news
Today we are informed, the chatlog will be back in few days :) They listened to us and our arguments, accepted them and now are working to activate it with one of the next updates. So it's a success of forum!
