I have win 10 now too, but even with win 7 and 8 it's the same folder, in which screenshots are saved that you take from fashion designer. It always worked for me
-
That's help Lover, because when I take a screen in the "Clothes Editor" that work and not in game in the room !
Maybe a fix soon, I don't know !
I have that in my startlog.txt:
Could not save:screenshots\userscreenshot_23.06.32.06/10/2016jpg
PS: I just see, need a point before jpg ! no ? normaly it's that : userscreenshot_23.06.32.06/10/2016.jpg

I think there are two issues.
First, the missing dot before jpg extension prevents the file from being recognized as a picture. Thats why it asks which APP you want to use to open the file.
Second, probably depending on Windows date format definitions, for some users file name includes "/" which is an invalid character for a file name. Cougar has "." as date separator and file name is valid. Nat has "/" and no file is saved.
-
Confirmed, I had same issue that Nat and solved it changing date format from / to -
What I could not fix is the issue about the extention, don't know why it dosen't add a . before the jpg, and don't know why don't open any explorer window when I click the cammera, it brings me to the desktop but don't open any window...
Amyway, it's a nice feature to have, and some of us were waiting for something like this for some time. Hope they put it in meeting place too.

Hi,
Thank you all, I send a ticket for that to the support with a link to this topic.
Wait and see ;)
-
Hi,
it worked well on computers we have tried. Anyway we try to replace the '.' character with '_' to see if it helps.
If you cannot see the .jpg extension it is only because known extensions are hidden on your computer (it is a setting of Windows).

tom

Hi Tom,
Thank you but I see my extensions files (option checked since years in the explorer options)
Example names of the files who work in the Clothes Editor: screen_230156.jpg
Waiting the patch and I tell you if it's ok for me :)
-
I can see, the problem is the date format on your computer, which is: 06/10/2016 (uses '/' character)
Will be corrected in the next delivered exe file.

tom

-
Hi all,
now it works fine for me too, thank you!
-
This isn't working for me.
Where is the folder ?
When I press the camera, a dos box appears and then it shows me the contents of the "My Documents" Folder, there's nothing there.
I've searched my harddrive for this screenshots folder. There isn't one. Also for jpgs. It's not there.
Windows 7 64 bit.

First check the Windows date format (Short date format at Control Panel). If it uses "/" as a date separator, change format to use a different character, like a "-" or a "."
Then, a screenshot file shoud be created.
If you cant open it, rename the file to add a "." before the "jpg" extension.
The file should now be recognized as JPG.
Screenshots are located at:
c:/users/your_username/AppData/Local/Achat/Screenshots
-
You will find the screenies here:
C:\users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\AChat\Screenshots
Where USERNAME is the name of your current user account.
The problem is that AChat installs in AppData which is a hidden folder by default. You may change its properties or the general folder properties to show hidden folders too.
Or you send a link of the AChat or Screenshots folder to your desktop, with a right-klick -> send to - this might be the easiest option. If you go to this folder by typing in the path, you can access it, although it lays inside a hidden one.
Hope this helps.

Thank you both for responding. :-*
I've changed the date format to a "." and I already have show hidden files, folders and drives selected.
Nothing comes up. The screenshots folder isn't there.
LOL. I've tried something. When this option was first added I deleted the Screenshots folder. I've just created a screenshots folder in the ACHAT folder and it works. LOL.
Only one thing that is weird though. When I select another folder from my hard drive it opens up another window showing that particular folder. LOL. I have to close all windows explorers and re open for it to stop. LOL.
Thank you both again. For the help. It got me thinking. :-* :-*
Oh btw. I've just tried it with the "/" for date format again and it's still OK.
-
Great to hear that it is working now.
The developers issued a patch some days ago to make the file name independent of the date separator character... apparently it is working ;)
