Just restarting the thread here so we can continue where the original thread leaves off.

Rammstein was banned? Seriously?

As I know, they are only banned in Belarus. But this is not a miracle.
This part of an article I found:
Lukashenko is regarded as the last dictator of Europe. Recently, the control has been tightened over the Internet, thus introducing the opinion of human rights censorship. Even satellite dishes to receive foreign TV stations have been banned.

Okay, anyone who can decide to moderate sources of knowledge should be familiar enough with history to know that never works out terribly well for the moderate.

I don't think you need to re-start all the threads Janine.  The A-Team should be able to just move the originals to their new homes.  Just tell them which ones to move where...if needed.

Okay, this is one of the reasons I have my beliefs... as I was typing up my Marin replies I found this song from the band Kamelot "Up through the ashes" I was just idly streaming their stuff because I had found a few I liked and this one, about the Crucifixion jumped out.

Sometimes something like "Roxette - Listen To Your Heart" can be nice when I'm tired of Lady Gaga and all the other mainstream pop, or just something completly different like Doro or Otep. Thought "Ke$ha - TiK ToK" is quite nice to listen at before going out :P.

Oh, I like that song its really good.

I was just listening to a Swedish singer called Veronica Maggio and I stumbled over the information that her song "Stopp" was about Freddy Krueger's emotional childhood problems... lol. Maybe someone can help me with a title of a song. I listened to it maybe 20 years ago, an old record i got from a friend. Only thing I still have in my mind are the fist 2 lines and the singer. I beleieve he is called John Mclean (?), the sentences i remember are:
"two brothers, promised they'd return,
after the war that thye were fightingis was over"

Does ayone know this song?

Within Temptation has been an old favorite of mine, although their newer albums don't really do it for me anymore. Maybe their latest has some promise, I haven't heard it yet. Expanding on one of our(dutch) proudest national products, I like (late, as they stopped)After Forever and Epica as well and I am sorry to say that they outperform the live-set of Evanescence that I've seen on every occasion I've seen them. With that out of the way, Evanescence's studiowork is pretty solid.

Going two ways from the type of music mentioned earlier, I like Midnattsol(softer) and Arch Enemy(harder) as well and Kittie(Canadian all-girl rockband) has a special place in my heart too.

"Van Helsing's Curse" cd "Occulus Infernum" Dee Snider doing for Halloween what the TransSiberian Orchestra did for Christmas... just the thing for this week leading in.

Good find... they certainly have  TransSiberian  quality to them.
Actually been listening to a lot of Nox Arcana this month. Their albums are very themed, primarily instrumental, but I noted some rather dark sensual cuts that tickle the imagination.
Midnight Syndicate is another group doing some dark gothic type instrumentals

Two bands I would recommend if you like Evanessence are Nightwish (they've had two singers, but both are amazing) and Within Temptation.

I think Tarja was much better than what Anette is, I liked her singing far more.

Btw LMFAO - Sexy and I Know It is so funny... love it. :D

Tarja is a brilliant vocalist, and I wouldn't dream of trying to take that away from her. The problem is she also seems quite the diva.

Anette seems to be having fun with what she's doing.

Both have their appeal.

Post by: Adera on November 16, 2011, 01:50:16 PM
Yes, Tarja seems to be a bit of a diva it's just to bad because I liked her singing more... at least she's released some albums after Nightwish. :)
Title: Re: Favorite Music (remake from Say...)
Post by: Janine Dee on November 16, 2011, 05:26:48 PM
I love them both honestly, I just feel for Anette as she HAS been putting in some terrific work, but still getting compared to Tarja, and while Tarja IS a VERY gifted vocalist I personally think a good percentage is humanities typically negative reaction to change.

If they had started with Anette I think she would have received much more recognition.

But I would happily play gay groupie for either or preferably both.
Title: Re: Favorite Music (remake from Say...)
Post by: Adera on November 17, 2011, 02:22:47 AM
I think the new songs they make are starting to turn out better than when Anette sings the old songs, Anette's not an opera singer so her voice doesn't turn out as powerful as Tarjas in the old songs.

I do wonder if Tarja is a domme...  she is quite like a queen.
Title: Re: Favorite Music (remake from Say...)
Post by: Janine Dee on November 17, 2011, 08:16:11 AM
I dunno... Domme is more then just demanding... if anything those diva-like characteristics could indicate a lack of empathy with those who would put themselves under a Domme's control.

Which is the difference between the simply good Dominants and the great ones.

As far as the old versus new... Anette should allowed to be Anette and not be asked to be Tarja certainly.
Title: Re: Favorite Music (remake from Say...)
Post by: Adera on November 17, 2011, 08:45:45 AM
Yes, divas might end up being too demanding.

I'm actually not sure whether or not Tarja is actually a diva, she seems like a really nice person actually.

I finally found the perfect Female cover to this Beatles classic.

And I Love Him    May Sfadia

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHE7t_QjKGw

The Jazz ones are too complicated and too slow. This is close to the Beatles tempo and has piano and concertina, leaving the girls voice WELL in the forefront.
Now I must have it  ;D

Now,Im very eclectic when it comes to music. One day,I may be listening to Barry Manilow, and the next day,Im listening to Velvet Acid Christ,or Skinny Puppy.None the less, music is what drives my soul each day that I wake from my slumber.Without music,I would probably be in some asylum, clawing the walls with my fingernails.

For those who like soothing classical pieces, you might like this. The band is [S.I.T.D.] (Shadows In The Dark),now the original piece is just the piano.A couple of years after its release,2 german girls asked the singer of the band if it was ok to add (german) lyrics and maybe a synthesizer with it,and post it on where else?...youtube...(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STiRe76Gzig)

Another piece I love to listen to is Brunuhville's Moonlight Lullaby  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BoSoQzoBBZI)

Enjoy!....Tomorrow,it may be Tom Jones,or it could be Nero Bellum from Psyclon Nine :)

My favorite songs change with my mood and what is going on in my life.  But three songs that always seen to follow me are:

Evanescence - Snow White Queen (music video hq)                   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boQHj8_ktAg

Evanescence - What You Want                                                   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVWazHTunSI

Marilyn Manson - Beautiful People                                              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGD468f1_Kc

One last one...someone was talking about Veronica Maggio...I like this video by her...very sureal

Veronica Maggio - Hädanefter                                                     https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSGFmO1p6nY

So I suppose it's safe to say that I really can't pick a favorite song...so I just put some re occurring favorites :)
