Well, I'm fighting a losing battle here with one of the guys (who shall remain nameless ;) ) as to how to best run the orgasm meter. I think it should stay at it's highest level and not drop at all. He thinks that it should drop over time.
So...poll time. What do you people think?

I'd like to be in control of the meter. from going up to going down, including a reset. That way you can use it as a non textual means of communicating how much you like the action.

I think I'll be in the minority here and say that I'm okay with the drop. It's more realistic, and to me that seems to be the whole point of the Orgasm Meter.

ok with the drop,..the waves of intensity,...rise and fall of senses...makes sense,...but I understand your point,...there are those times,...excitement takes hold, drives you...last thing I worry though at that point, is the frickn' meter

I like the drop over time because in real life, who cums and doesn't stop? However, I do hate that the meter drops/decreases (quite a lot) when changing positions. I can see a little bit, by 1/4 to 1/2 is unrealistic.

A half seems unrealistic,...for programming purposes I can understand a quarter drop,...
Are they radically different poses? 69 to from behind at the table?

There is something to be said about being able to get that rhythm. When you change positions you ARE stopping. It might be less then a minute as you shift around, but you are stopping, those excited nerve endings are getting a chance to calm down.

During the same action it should not drop. I am with you. It's ok when it drops a little bit when you change position, but not as much as it does.
And I know, I am alone with this, but I also say: During the same action it should increase from time to time (e.g. every 60s a bit) and not stay at one position.
But most of all it's important to have control about it. This is ok.

Not trying to be contrary (honest) but on my list of reasons to be pissed off at the development team the Orgasm Meter isn't on it. As it stands it seems to fully serve it's purpose as it is now.

Honestly the one time I finally went in a room, I kept forgetting it was there. Then I had to stop what I was doing ::) so I press it. Which actually made MY meter go down, trying to remember that damn thing. ::) ::). So can't really vote, Bobby :P. Have to try it many more times in order to give a acurate vote. :P :P

I am split. Like sinnnn I tend to forget about it. Mostly I am so into what me and my partner says and what is happening on screen so it might not even be there. Then I just have to push it all the way up when it's time to do that. On the other hand, it's something strangely nice with the meter slowly decreasing in the afterplay, like winding down or something. I think I agree with bobbler, both in that the meter should be totally under our control, and that it shouldn't decrease when changing positions. The default for males should be that it would decrease a lot after cumming though. Finally though, as Janine says, there are a lot more important things to focus on than the bloody orgasm meter...

If you read e.g. sinnnn and Chris words, this problem would be solved with an automatic increase. It's more realistic - you can't fuck for hours in an erotic mood without getting closer to cum :)

But one point also is true - the orgams meter is not a thing they have to take care about at the moment. IAt least I like it, it was a real improvement.

My point is more that an automatic increase might have your avatar right at the peak while you're still several paces away. For a visible meter that both partners can see anything other then the person indicating "I am here." The point seems to get defeated.

Totally against an automatic increase,..IMHO it is just fine,..if you are concentrating on the meter I just don't think you are doing enough to concentrate on the partner...the groupie and I pretty much use it as a finality to the scenario,..find it easier to press the mouse then keyboard when that exquisite moment arrives, and my eyes roll back,...shudder...well you get the point.

Maybe the solution is a meter that can be set to automatic as well as to manual. I don't see any realism in the meter staying at the highest point when orgasming. That's just silly. IN that regard the meter is an improvement. The drop in the meter after changing positions is not to my favor either. I can imagine (and remember) many changes in poses that go without losing my level of orgastic state.
It would be nice to be able to concentrate on my partner and not pay attention to the meter (happens most of the time) and have it on auto. And there are moments where I am focussed on how i feel and what is about to happen. My vote would go to a manual/auto meter

Its just remember to click the damn thing that drives me nuts. If I don't then the person is wondering if I am getting off or not. It takes the fun out of it when the person tells you to click the button or ask are you almost ready. sheech, then I have to click the button to get close to where I am at. Like I said before, it makes my meter go down a bit.
I guess I am being old fashioned, like hearing my partner telling me how close they are. Really watching the meter to see where they are at just don't do it for me.

but we were messing with the meter,..and poses actually found less to like about the orgasm sequence the more we used...some of the poses just made us ::) go "huh?"
see the drop Bobbler was speaking of,..but I didn't see it as anything I'd consider critical or spectacular,...a swing of position will sometimes as Tight indicated cause a natural "pause". if a big variant in position, but if similar I don't think they would cause that much.
If anything,..reinforced my opinion,...that I would use it only if it added to the situation, but highly unlikely rather concentrate on the partner in the end

It is a card game, that uses a board and pegs to keep track of the score. 2-4 players Simple, easy to learn, takes skill, and as my partner had,...LUCK to win.
But tying it to Achat did enhance,...making the evening more pleasant,..a creative and fun diversion we could mess with,...
Teaas holdem,..dice,...these were thoughts brought up during the summer. As a group, 3some...yes..evening more fun when with friends you enjoy...
AChat would be wise to consider public play rooms,...not necessarily tied to sex,...but for groups to interact without concern of ease dropping.

OK, so I know this thread was a poll to see what people thought of the duration of the orgasm meter, but I have a serious inquiry: When it was the old "squirt" button, free users could use it? So why now do all of us need to be members to orgasm? If none of you have been with a free user, they can only max out to the threshold; their character cannot orgasm without becoming a premium user....the only reason I disagree with this is cause the old squirt button was open to free users. Maybe it's better in a different topic with it's own poll.

There should be some additional benefits of being a premium...and still of the same opinion if you are focusing on the meter, then you're not really focusing enough on the partner and the experience.

The fact that it falls,...well I think there are those who see both sides,...a grey area whether anything needs to be fixed,...perhaps an override button to hold it would satistfy both viewpoints.

An interesting development some may not be aware of is that you can't orgasm with the meter in the foreplay pose. At least not the FF one. Which could be understandable, but was sort of.. anti-climactic to discover it when I did.

I for one like the meter just the way it is. It works good provided, like sinnnn said, you remember in the heat of sex to use it. But the nice part is it gives your partner an indication of how aroused you are. So in that sense you get some feedback from them instead of being able to look in their eyes or feel their skin getting goosebumps, or thier body shaking. Until those signs can be transmitted the meter works for me.
