Title: Tablet version?
Post by: apollo13nut on March 15, 2011, 11:26:51 AM
I know it was suggested a while back to make a cell phone version and that idea was rejected...however with the advent of tablets (iPad and others), I wonder if anyone else would be interested in seeing the achat client for these tablets (in the case of Apple, restrict it to iPad only so it's not on the iPhone).

Any thoughts, ideas, concerns?

I really don't think Apple would allow an adult program like AChat for any of their devices, they like to have the App Store family friendly with no porn at all. Apple have rejected applications for magazines and newspapers where too much skin where showing or nipples being visible through clothing.

AChat would probably be able to have an app on Android Market but I think the work they'd have to put into it to make it work in a good way is far too much for them to even consider right now.

Surprise...Kisses all you guys.  FONDLES janine ::)

Anyway I wanted to suggest making this available to ppl who have tablets and stuck with the Andriod.  I know alot of the sexy computer geeks gonna suggest that it'll take time, gonna be alot of work.  I KNOW, LOL,  I  just wanted to be able to play again.  Unless it is available and my crazy tail haven't notice.

Hello Love, welcome back.  :-*

This was brought up before for smartphones, and my concern was getting an adult use ap for mobile devices... I had concerns, but I forgot the ultimate rule of "sex sells" and it's moving onto the portable format of tablets and phones.

So I now think the possibility exists, but now the question is processing power. *I* think it would work since I saw the iTunes store offering GTA3 for the iPad (and I still have the damn game on disc for my PS2) , but I'm not sure how well the conversion would work.

Any of our more tech-savy souls have a better perspective?

Welcome Back, Sinnnn,

It's interesting you brought up this topic now because nearly a year ago (only off about 4 days) the suggestion for AChat use on tablets was first made. I'll merge the two threads for you. I think technology has greatly improved since then (as it always does.) Perhaps AChat is more "tablet friendly" now.  :)

Hey sinnnn :-*  so the devil is coming back to earth?  :D

As I'm just thinking about byuing the new iPad it would be a big argument for "pro" haha. As all tablets are getting better and better, more resolution, more power.... and soon 3d (hehe) it's just a question of time when it will be possible.

A first step is made (though not for AChat), as Rukya said about smartphones
"its possible , i saw it in a game , peoples can connect their avatar to chat in game  with their phone Smiley".

One more question, I'm interested in the answer of A-Team.

To the pro camp (developers please take note) most every social media out there is now available in ap forms, but to my knowledge none of the adult formats are... this is literally a vastly untapped market. I'm not sure what the hurdles would be , but I think the potential at least warrants a good hard look at those hurdles to see if they could be cleared.

Well I did type in NUDE in my andriod app search and some interesting things did pop up .  So if they are letting things like nude stripping as an app, something like this can't be that far away. ;D

Hmmm did my post just get edited and pasted somewhere else!?  Rotfl.  :o

Well I found a dirty back-door way to run it on my iPad....and by that I mean I use a remote desktop app. There is a client that runs on my tower at all times. I log into the app on the iPad and then tell it I want to remote with my tower, and then it asks for the desktop log in information. Of course, this allows for other things, like file sharing in case I lose/forget a file, but it's a great way to do work on an iPad without have to carry my laptop too. And yes, I have tried accessing AChat using the remote desktop system....It's called LogMeIn (I was told there is an Android version).

Hi there sinnnn. :)

Yeah, as Keiko said, she merged your thread with another since they where about the same thing.

Anyway, I don't think there could be an native app for iPad considering Apple's policy.

The AChat Client runs quite well on my Tablet. just accessing the on screen keyboard is a wee bit of a pain sometimes. The only draw back is that ACHat is a real memory pig... needing almost 4 meg of ram to run. So if you don't at least 1 GIG, don't even try running it on a tablet,,, and having enough disck space for file cache is important too, because AChat does cahe a lot of page files. Also processor speed is equally important with the AChat client somtimes using as much as 40% of the processor time...

one trick I found is to close anything and everything you don't need running... just the bare essentials which includes your networking protocols. Also shuttingoff your firewall, and virus scanner helps too... Just remember to turn it all back on again and close the AChat Client if you plan on visiting the game website, otherwise you could be vulnerable to those lil nasties like port sniffers, and trojans creeping into your system.

One really good thing I found while running Achat on my tablet, is to keep your java version up to date, and to clear you caches BEFORE starting the Client.

Just my Observations...

I'm running a custom/modified Blackberry Playbook Tablet OS 2.0 It's not the run of the mill kind you can buy in stores. This one I had made by one of Blackberry's suppliers under their licence. I had it made with some very specific criteria which includes a 14" screen. Sorry, because it's under licence and they consider it a BETA test hardware product, I'm not allowed to comment further, but who knows! It could be available soon.

* UPDATE *

With Microsoft making their Windows 8 Release Preview, the operating system is solely geared towards the playbook and tablet market. I have this installed on a newer custom built desktop... But it comes at a cost, the build approached $2500.00 Canadian just for the hardware.

While this machine packs a whollop, with 32 Gig of memory, and a quad core dual socket main board with twin 3.8GHz processors, it is doubtful that any tablet will be approaching this level of speed, strength and performance anytime soon... but then again innovation always follows when new operating systems are released.

Cydia can open new horizon for ipad developing no need for app store no more and there is the badoink ipad app wich is porn youtube app checkout  http://ipad.badoink.com/. Everything is possible...
Android has its own porn store it could be even easier.
