This is something I was pondering while driving around a couple nights ago - ways to make AChat into more of a game for increased playability and long term investment.
While AChat is fun, has a community of some really great people, and some fun sex scenes, it doesn’t seem to have much in the way of long term playability and means to keep interest for an extended period of time - beyond that of the people you meet and have fun with. The online community is what gives it the advantage over others like other game or the various Illusion games, but the one thing the Illusion games do have is something akin to character advancement - where your character is able to develop relationships through their actions, buy upgrades, and collect girl- or boyfriends.
This then gave me the idea of something that makes the sex scenes more of a game that will actually allow you to advance your avatar and give you a compulsion to continue playing beyond the gratification of self-pleasuring. I realize such a system would be probably unrealistic to implement, but I just wanting to put it out there because I like hearing myself talk

What happens is each sex scene is a challenge to overcome. I use the standard set up of a woman and man for ease. Basically the premise is that both partners are working to bring the other close to orgasm but not spill over the edge until it is impossible to hold it back. The girls have to pleasure the man, to keep his “interest” via stimulation and this will build automatically indicated by a meter window (though the meter will only be an approximation, not a hard number). Each partner will have some counters to help avoid prevent premature ejaculation - either switching up poses or forces of will. However, if the girl is not able to maintain that stimulation, the meter will drop and the man will lose interest.
Likewise, the man has to maintain the same task with the woman - to keep her pleasured and stimulated to prevent her own frustation and boredom. If he is not able to stimulate her, she will also lose interest. This then becomes a challenge between the two partners, trying to stimulate each other to the highest point without orgasm coming too soon, or too late - as growing tired is also a danger. Failure means a loss of favor between the two, as well as no advancement points.
What this does is not only makes it a fun challenge, but serves as a means to award advancement for the two avatars. Points can be awarded for length of stimulation before orgasm, intensity of orgasms, creativity of pose use, time in session before tiring and so on. These points are then used to advance the character from, say, a level 1 Virgin to a more experienced level 2 Debutante. Of course, only subscribed members can make use of the advancement.
Each advancement is in a particular type of partner set. Like an avatar could be a Level 6 in male/female scenes, but only a level 2 with female/female encounters, and Level 1 in female/shemale
And with advancement comes rewards. At level 1, one only has access to 2 or 3 poses. At level 2, more poses open up, and then more at level 3 and so on - but the new poses are only available to those of similar level or higher. Also, other ‘enhancements’ can be bought, such as the Sperm Bank (longer, heavier male orgasms), Ribbed Strap-on for lesbian encounters, Endurance (to endure longer sessions and/or multiple orgasms before tiring), Anal Mastery (to have a strong command over anal sex), Empathy (able to more accurately determine partners proximity to release) etc etc. all designed to improve the avatar’s command of their own and their partner’s pleasure.
Favor is another thing I thought of. If one is with a partner multiple times and are able to successful achieve orgasm with them, they gain points of Favor for each encounter. This adds an increased ability to understand one’s partner and determine their point of release. Higher Favor would award correspondingly less advancement points, but increases the chance of successful orgasms.
Also, there could be a Free Mode choice, meaning one can run AChat just as it is now, without the challenge, but no rewards are given, and no Favor is won or lost.
How do I think this benefit AChat?
Incentives.
It will serve as incentive to new players to not just log in for a quick bump and squirt, but give them a reason to become premium members to actually be able to take advantage of the pose range and all the game would offer. It would also give reason for subscription members to log in because they would want to advance their character all the way up to a level 10 Goddess/God of Carnal Power! This would then promote players to take out longer subsriptions, instead of getting bored with repetitiveness and wandering off. This is what keeps MMOs going, the ability to continually advance your character, to just get that next level of ability.
Equally, it would serve as a point of pride to show off your mastery of the sexual arts on your character screen.
So there you have it. As I said, I highly doubt any such thing could be implemented, but it was just something I was considering and wanted to put it out there.

mmmh, your idea looks interessing, but i don't think developers go to this direction, not whit aChat...
To creat something like what u describe, the actual aChat need a full rework, plus if u can unlock poses at any new level, what abiut the poses we buy whit A$!? or u was thinking about unlocking them and then u can buy them!? if this is not your idea (and u can have them for free), developers have to refound us all the A$ we had spend and i don't think they gonna do this.
Avalucia, yuor idea is nice but it can work for a totally new games. wel, that's my opinion, anyway!

hate to be harsh, but thats a bad idea, the very concept of achat is that its sex chat with animations etc. making it more like other games would be like taking other game and adding raids and shit

Well, I have stated that it is not a realistic concept, not with a game that is already live (though that didn't stop SWG), but just something I was pondering while out roaming around the town. At no point have I stated that it would be something I would expect to see done, but merely my own musings with what has been done and what is available.
Take that as one will, I understand what AChat is.

I think there could come something from this brain exercise.. For me it connects to the thread about working males,females,shemales.. If you could get a 'degree in AChat', it could cater to the need of users to find someone with (similar) experience and skills.
A way of achieving a 'degree' could be a rating system. You rate the partner you were with, as he/she does the same. Combined with 'experience points' that are gathered with each rooming, you could create a number or evel, indicating someone's experience and skills in the game.
Ofcourse only to the ones willing to submit themselves to the scrutiny of their partner... Just an idea, open to be supported or to be shot down...

a lot of subjective evaluation being presented there.
There is an existing rating system to evaluate those you have gifted. Seems to me that this could be hardwired into a category of professionals with an evaluation survey at the end of the session. Not that I am warm to the idea, just mentioning.

well there are only so many outfits, and trivial gifts IMO are kind of a waste. Perhaps if one could gift "play points" which could be exchanged for subscription service the idea might have merit.
(had to laugh at the raid comment though I was thinking of the Gorean society in SL imposing their will on the general population there...)

its a waste either way, but at least if the gifts were trivial girls wouldnt be buying their subscriptions with gifts putting all the financial pressure on guys. not to mention the ongoing problem of going through the list that is tedious as hell to scroll through looking for girls who arent asking for gifts, which is half on a good day. and about 1/5th of the girls who dont ask for gifts in their description ask after

Sorry, Avalucie, I have to totally disagree with the premise. There are already 3D world places out there, other game and SL, and tons of MMO games, it's never been (I would think) AChat's intent to compete with that. I do agree that the in-room stuff could be enhanced some (like being able to walk around, sit on a chair, edge of the bed), maybe allow for a bit of disrobing striptease to tease my partner with and that sort of thing, it doesn't need to be more than that.
You mention incentives. Meeting someone, having something click in chat and going on to share an intimate moment isn't incentive enough? Sure the hell is for me. And even in a bigger virtual world sense (like other game or SL), the same held true, while clubbing hanging out with a whole group of friends etc. all have their place, it still boiled down to interacting with people. Sometimes that led to sharing intimate experiences and sometimes not.
So in AChat, in-room, if a guy isn't interacting with me via chat, what the hell am I in there for anyhow? Because really, if it's just a matter of me getting off, screw AChat and typing, I can use a vibe, close my eyes, fantasize to my heart's content and spare myself the bother of trying to juggle that vibe and type. Okay guys, fan yourself and chill, yeah you guys jack and we jill ... be real, damn.
So while I can't speak for the OP, what makes those intimate moments is establishing at least a bit of interest (chatting) and sometimes a spark or connection happens and it goes to a more intimate level. And what AChat gives is more than enough for that (though we always want more, right? lol).
As for outfits ... I'd sure like the option to strip tease
wooo imagining the guy feasting his eyes, feel that tension building... but really all that pixel stuff shouldn't be the focus imho, it should be there to convey what's going on between two people at a intimate level. It's cyber sex, but that doesn't mean it's emotionally (or physically) meaningless. Hell call it mutual masturbation if you want (that'd be the technical correct thing, I reckon), but if it's really a shared experience, then it can (and most likely will) transcend that and let me tell you, it's great when it happens. As good as real? Hell no. But still awesome in its own way. Maybe even more awesome because there were so many hurdles to jump to get your mind (and body) to that place.
That's SHOULD be the incentive, not some pixelated gimmick crap. HD porn and a vibrator has a lot more going for it than merely pushing buttons and typing ooh-ahh, yeah baby, faster, harder.
As for gifting. I don't ask for it and don't expect it. It's a great surprise and thrill when it happens, like getting flowers or a card from someone ... it brings back the smile and memory of what clicked (and how!). But to make it more blatant than it already is seems more like pandering or whoring to me. Or maybe that's just me.
As for rating systems ... hell no! I'm not here competing for some twisted reality version of Fucking with the Stars. I'm here because of the social aspect first and foremost. The other stuff is great if/when it happens.
So I guess what I'd say Avalucia, is if that's what you're looking for, maybe you better take a close look at your motives for being in AChat. It is NOT a game, and it's that perpetuating a game notion that makes it tougher for the really nice guys to get out there and get themself noticed. There's already way too much "game" playing (the human kind not the video kind) going on anyhow without going out looking for ways to make this Sims 3 Fuck City.
