There are valid reasons for more information. 

1. How is the baby being carried?  High or low?  That usually indicates the sex.  High - girl... Low - boy.

2. Also carring wide or narrow?  Also an indication of the sex.  "Wide" or "narrow" refers to the shape of the uterus -- entirely out front (narrow) - boy .. or also to the sides (wide) - girl.

3. Ring method - My Grand Mother used my wedding ring on a string.  She dangled it over my belly and all 3 times (I have 3 children) it swung back and forth, which meant a boy, which they all were.  If it moves in a circle then it's a girl.

4. And how many children does the mother already have?  The first usually is late, while the latter ones all seem to be in a hurry and are early.

* Is the mother experiencing heartburn?  That is a sign of the baby being born with hair.

I've got that familiar feeling again... craving sushi!

mhmmm Bakudan, Tako, Gunkanmaki Kanpyo and one of my fav's Negitomaki...

For those who do not know, Bakudan is "FIRE" so it's very hot, and wrapped in Baran leaves.
Tako is Calamari (octopus) which is very yummy and lots pf protien.
Gunkanmaki is an oval shaped clump of rice with Roe, Oysters and Natto (fermented Soybeans)
Negitomaki is a rolled rice wrapped in kelp leaves, filled with scallions and chopped tuna.

... and of course WASABI! and to cleanse the pallet, finely sliced pickled ginger.
