The 2 number 1's   are close together with the black head of the fixing bolt at the bottom witch turns them into a U

OK, Rukya, this is what my friends tell me. There is a specific font that they use for number plates in the UK.
You can't display that font on here unless the person viewing it has it installed so, in order to display it in the same way that it would appear in real life, you have to show a graphic representation.
The 1's are just straight up and down, like I's.
The plate typically has 4 bolts to hold  it on. So by positioning the bolts so they are where there are letters, you can hide them all except the one you want to show between the two 1's, to create the appearance of a U.
My friends tell me that it is probably illegal but people still do it anyway.
