Hello there, where to start? Well, I had some issues with running AChat recently, mainly getting AppCrash after the autoupdate was done. I managed to solve this temporally by canceling the autoupdate process after it went by one (1/23 for example), then AChat was working well. But recently it started to give me a message about using an obsolete version (which was on purpose to get it running) and prompted me to update. After the full update process it returned to the state of crashing while launching AChat. I am using the 2.0 installer to install AChat on my computer, is there any new version of it, or why do I get the "Dear user ..." message? I would love to be able of joining the AChat virtual community again, but it seems I'm pretty done :(

PS: don't mind the typos there :) Not my native language.

I suggest you remove your ACHAT folder and download the current version. It should work fine then.

I did already. Now I have version 2.11 instead of 2.0, but it's still the same, AppCrash immadiately after launching AChat.
I fear my comp might be too obsolete for running newer version of AChat, since some months ago it worked only through cancelling the autoupdate process.

hi Levianne!

Maybe you could give us your PC specs, we could see beter if it's a PC problem or not.

Are you drivers up to date. Graphic Card's ones especially and maybe chipset's?

Try go on your fabricator's site to update it. Only use windows update system is mostly not enough.

Well, my specs are:

processor: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.47 GHz
memory RAM: 1.25 GB
graphics chipset: Nvidia GeForce FX 5200
OS: Windows 7

Graphics drivers up to date (using the Nvidia Experience application, which keeps drivers updated).

I know, it's not the strongest computer in the world (I said already it's obsolete, more than 15 years old, I can't afford any better), but it always worked well with AChat, only recently the problems started, first getting AppCrash right after updating AChat wia the autoupdater application. I tried my luck and decided to cancel the process in pure desperation, which happened to be a temporal solution. AChat worked well. But since yesterday instead of logging in, it gave me the message that I'm using an older version of AChat and have to restart and update the application. I did that. The AppCrash came back.

Good for the updates, but aw, indeed your pc seems a bit outdated  :-\

I suppose you don't have high graphics set on on achat?
Also try run it with nthg else running on your pc. Only achat! and not fullscreen.
If it doesn't work even with this... wouldn't know how to help dear... 1,25G ram is very low nowadays, even if proc maybe could work. And achat is quite demanding for such a "low" game actually.

I hope someone comes up with better advice than me.

Thank you, even trying to help counts.
Btw a friend of mine has the very same problem (getting AppCrash upon completing the autoupdate process), but her comp is a more advanced machine actually, something just 3 years old, which should be able to run most of the new games and applications. I don't know her exact specs and she's not able to post here, since she's just a basic member (who can't register on this forum, I guess), but I could ask her about them.
Both of us were able to run AChat half a year back, but she just got the same "Dear user, you are using an older version of AChat ..." message, which prompted us to update to the newest version. Just like me, she installed the AChat version 2.11 and then it means AppCrash for her too. That's pretty strange actually.

Yes, I should send a ticket to the support team (I might have to do it before even posting here in the first place, I guess), but well, that's just me, first asking questions, then trying to solve things the way they should be solved :D

I suppose you don't have high graphics set on on achat?

I don't have the HD files, but a very strange thing is, I had them once and AChat did work with them, the only thing was, that my graphics card didn't support it and I saw the new stuff (hairstyles and such) as plain white, instead of in color. But AChat still worked at that time.

The new Meeting Place and the tweaks on it probably messed it up for you.

And asking here before support is never wrong ;)

I hope for you you get this solved Levianne!!!  ;)

Hey Levienne,

I'm sorry you are having problems with loading Achat. I'm afraid all I can say is the same as other members... Uninstall everything to do with Achat, completely clear your PC  and then re-install the new version.

Of course, I would advise sending a ticket to support for advice, like Peeka said.

I did in fact send one for you to the Achat Gods here when I first saw your complaint, but it wont hurt you corresponding with their reply to your email direct.
Lover had already advised you when I did this.  (Thanks Lover. mwahhhhh)

Good Luck.  I hope your problem is resolved soon.
Please let us know.

Hello, BrandyBee, I'll quote here, what I wrote in another section of the forum:
Deleting the files in the AChat folder you say? Well, this is, what I did:
1. uninstalling AChat
2. going to AppData/Local, deleting the whole AChat folder with all that was left in there
3. going to the same place, finding the folder Programs, in there deleting AChat_old (or something like that)
4. rebooting my computer
5. downloading and installing AChat version 2.11
The AppCrash still there. :(
This could be considered as a clean installation of AChat, but the problem's still there.
The ticket already sent by me to the support, when Peeka advised me to do so, but thank you for yours as well. All I can do now is waiting for their reply.

I think you have downloaded the full version of AChat, which is 545mb. This includes the high detail version, maybe this is causing your problems. Goto homepage, scroll down a little until you are below the video. There you can download the normal version, 369mb.

Before you install, do the same as you did before: Remove the old, current version. I hope this will solveyour troubles.

Got some emails from the support team, sending them the "startlog.txt" file and they say that it seems not to be in graphics, like AChat crashing even before attempting to load graphic stuff. Strange. But I'm downloading the smaller installator now, who knows, I may be lucky and it might solve the problem. Hope so at least.
