It’s easy folks just pick a team, (more than one person can pick the same team) you can study the stats, choose your favorite team or pick one because you like their colors or their Mascot, the choice is yours. Here’s a link to help you choose.
This is a friendly game, no cash prizes but wagers between players and trash talk is strongly encouraged.
By wagers I mean control of banners, dress up the loser (dust off those gimp masks) : and for the gamblers Achat cash bets between the players.THE SEASON BEGINS SEPTEMBER 10th

… a brief explaination of point spreads. How the Point Spread Works:
When two teams meet on the playing field, one team is typically better than the other. If all sports gamblers had to do was to pick the winning team in a game, everybody would simply wager on the best team and collect their money.
Using an example from Week 2 of the 2007 NFL season, the Atlanta Falcons were visiting the Jacksonville Jaguars. There was little doubt Jacksonville was the better of the two teams and if all one had to do was to pick the winning team, nearly every bettor would have taken the Jaguars.
What the sportsbooks and bookies did, however, was to create a point spread, to make both teams equally attractive in the eyes of bettors.
In this case, Jacksonville was installed as a 10 point favorite, which is commonly written as Jacksonville -10. Atlanta, the underdog, is commonly written as Atlanta +10.
If you bet the favorite, Jacksonville, the Jaguars have to win by 11 points or more in order for you to win your bet. Remember, the Jaguars are favored by 10 points, so we subtract 10 points from their final score for betting purposes. If Jacksonville were to win 24-13, Jaguar bettors would win their wager. If the Jaguars were to win 23-14, Jacksonville bettors would lose because they did not win by more than 10 points.
If you bet the underdog, the Atlanta Falcons, you win your bet if the Falcons win the game or if they lose by 9 points or less. Because the Falcons are the underdogs, we add 10 points to their final score for betting purposes.
If the Jaguars were to win the game by exactly 10 points, 24-14, it would be a tie or a push and all wagers are refunded to bettors.
Jacksonville did defeat Atlanta as expected, but the Jaguars failed to cover the point spread when they won by a score of 13-7.

May the games, TrashTalk and wagers begin. If anyone wishes to take on an adopted team to challenge a player for just that game, feel free to throw the gauntlet.
The rules are …. there are no rules lol.
Actually both team opponents have to agree to the bet or wager.
We are playing for control of profile dress (No Nudity), Profile taglines & placement of avatars.
Anything more than that is at the discretion and agreement of the players for each game
Please post your wager and the forfeit. Pics are always nice.
Winning Team = Winner of the bet.
Players can adopt unadopted teams for an individual game if they wish. 😮 😮Tip – Players might wish to take advantage of the point spread when negotiating wagers. See Above.

mmmm looks like Martinus has selected my usual team – The Seattle SeaHawks. ( I chose them last season as the weather in Seattle is like the UK… it rains alot LOL )
This season I will choose a new team and the Baltimore Ravens are my choice. Why? I hear you ask …
Well, Did you know
Legend says that the British kingdom and the Tower of London will fall if the six resident ravens ever leave the fortress. It was Charles II, according to the stories, who first insisted that the ravens of the Tower should be protected.
The Raven Master is a Yeoman Warder or 'Beefeater' dedicated to caring for the Tower's unique Unkindness of Ravens.

There are seven ravens at the Tower today ( the required six plus one spare!) Their names are Hardey, Thor, Odin, Gwyllum, Cedric, Hugine and Munin.
Occasionally ravens have to be dismissed for bad behaviour. This happened to Raven George who received his marching orders in 1986 after he developed an unhealthy taste for TV aerials:
“On Saturday 13th September 1986, Raven George, enlisted 1975, was posted to the Welsh Mountain Zoo. Conduct unsatisfactory, service therefore no longer required.”Ravens can live to a very ripe age. The oldest raven to live at the Tower was called Jim Crow who died at the age of 44. The oldest raven currently at the Tower is Hardey who is 24 years old.
Since 1987 the Tower has undertaken a successful breeding programme for the ravens. Charlie and Rhys paired up and produced a total of 17 chicks.
Two of the newest recruits came from the Owl Sanctuary in the New Forest having been rescued as fledglings. Called Odin and Thor, they have been at the Tower since 1997. Thor is a very good mimic…. on a quiet day he will repeat things the Raven Master has said to him with exactly the right tone to create all sorts of confusion!
So The Baltimore Ravens it is
