I am quite upset as I write this message. I spent almost an hour going through the offline messages I received.
Because something has changed in the system that these messages are offered when logging in. When you do, you see the red button flashing, notifying you of received messages. This inbox can only hold 20 messages (which is utterly RIDICULOUS!!!) and it used to show the last ones received first, and hide the ones over 20 and are oldest.
But somewhere in december this has appareantly changed. I try to keep in touch with the ones that are closer to me, through sending them messages when they are offline. I felt disappointed that I didn't get replies or new messages at all. I didn't want to delete the older ones, since they date back to the time when I started here. These messages are important because of emotional values.
I don't want to retype and save those messages in a different file somewhere on my pc. First of all, retyping them would strip them of their meaning for me. Unsure why, but the original messages was typed by the person that sent it to me, adding something personal. Retyping would take that personal touch away. And you can't copy+paste from the offline inbox, something I requested before.
So today I decided to select and keep what I couldn't bare deleting, only to find out I missed about 30 messages from friends, lovers and spouses. Some messages explaining the prolonged absence of some due to difficulties in their personal lifes, some held an explanation for missing a date. Having missed that message, upset because of the rudeness of not letting me know the date had to be cancelled, I deleted that person from my friendslist. And there are numerous examples like that. My friends are used to me replying and sending messages and I just hope that I can explain to them why I didn't reply back.
My gratitude to the a-team… it sucks
My sincerest apologees to my friends, for those that read the forum. For not receiving their messages and replying..
February 23, 2012 at 11:37 am #60367hentaiboy69Participantit can happend whit the actual message system. Tight, i hope your friend can read this and you two can rebuild your friendship! or more…… good luck!
February 23, 2012 at 1:17 pm #60368sexiliciousParticipantyeah it does happen which is why a lot of times the next time i see the person on i might bring up the message i sent if they didn't reply or bring it up and a lot of times it was cause they didn't get it. probably happens to you a lot more though tight cause sometimes you seem quite busy

So… They are not avoiding me. I thought maybe it was something I said. I understand now why I don't get replies from some. I never get any more than 3 or 4, so I didn't know they would hide from the reader. I am glad you posted this. Thank you.
Thanks for letting me share,

It sucks when you base a decision on false info.. (still on a rampage.. ggrrrrrr!!)
February 24, 2012 at 8:36 am #60372bluedenimParticipantI don't understand Tight and you've been on here much longer than me.
I read mine every time I log on and reply to the ones that aren't from people I don't know asking me to be their friend or lover and I know my replies get read because they always respond.
I always delete them as soon as I have read them and replied, it never occurred to me to have a reason to save them.If people were serious about leaving you a message you would definitley get, surely they would use the pm facility on the forum?
February 24, 2012 at 8:46 am #60373hentaiboy69ParticipantBlue, the problem is this: sometimes peoples you care (no matter if they are friends, lover or spouses) can send you some message rellay important for them and you. The point is, i'd like to re-read some of this message too, so i had leave them in the message box and Tight do the same. I dunno how long Tight is here on achat (more then an year, i presume), so he probably have lot of this message and he don't want to delete them (consider them like a love letter from your boyfriend, blue) and at the end, his message box get full. it happend to me one time, cause an idiot who he is over me (at least he know i'm a man), like an hunter on his prey, want to have controll on me and fullfill my message box. something like, uhmmmmm……..12 or 13 messages in few minutes! What a pain!
February 24, 2012 at 9:09 am #60371AderaParticipantI can understand how Tight feel about this and I've felt the same about some messages I've received. But I started to remove all the messages after a while anyway, it was way too cumbersome to send and keep messages like that in AChat.
For me it's important to easily notice new messages and I was also immensely bothered by the limited message length and cumbersome way you write them in there… that's mostly why I decided to keep my message box clean.
Blue, I agree with you, the forum is way better for messages and especially those of a longer nature. It's happened that I've sent messages like that to the wrong people… kinda embarrassing.

the only problem is about free users……they can't use the forum, so achat have cut them an alternative to the message box.
February 24, 2012 at 9:33 am #60375AderaParticipantI haven't noticed anything about the free users not being able to use the forum. When I joined the forum it was an separate registration… I don't think the forum account and game account is linked in anyway. I think Lover would have the same name in AChat as here if that where the case.
February 24, 2012 at 9:38 am #60376hentaiboy69Participantyou are digging inside me whit this doubt………i'm not so sure……confused….. *tilt*
Tilt mode off……i had take a look at the registration on the forum
