Hi,
thank you for the feedback, we have corrected the problem.
Regards,
AChat supportOctober 6, 2020 at 12:01 pm #167425This morning I've been trying a few things trying to remedy this issue.
Searching online “Black screen in Apps”. There isn't much there. But, I have found something.
This is what I've found :-
Sometimes, you may see a black screen as a result of Windows 10 losing its connection with the display. You can use the Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B keyboard shortcut to restart the video driver and refresh the link to the monitor.
I've tried this in full screen mode and it doesn't work. Windowed mode did work. When i say did work, the time I tried it in winter (just) it worked. But, I suspect it's intermittent. When I'm on again I'll give it another bash.
Strange thing about going full screen. When it does go black screen it comes back for a while and then black again (flashing on and off). But, when it does go black my monitor makes a screaming noise.
October 10, 2020 at 12:06 am #167442OK, I might have sussed it.
I've been in a meeting place for quite a long time tonight, not in full screen though and I haven't had a black screen all night. I'm going to do more testing though first, fingers crossed.
It might just be coincidence. So, I'm not getting my hopes up. Or, it might even be a fix from the Devs.
I'll keep you posted. :
October 28, 2020 at 12:52 pm #167443I've been trying something now for quite a while, a setting within windows that is automatically turned on. Turned on because it's recommended. That's why I haven't mentioned it.
With this setting turned off I have had only a few black screens since my last post on this thread, instead of half a dozen one after the other.
Instructions Below.
1. Goto Settings.
2. System.
3. Power And Sleep.
4. Additional Power Settings (on right hand side of screen).
5. Choose what the power buttons do. (Left hand side).
6. Change settings that are currently unavailable. (Un-greys the options + requires been a Administrator)
7. Un-Check Turn on Fast start up.You might have to restart. (I can't remember, Sorry).
My P.C takes a longer amount of time to load, (Not that much difference though). BUT, What i have noticed as well is that when I start a game through Steam I don't get any black screen at all when it is loading up. So, I don't have to restart my P.C every time I want to have a go at something.
So there it is. It might just be coincidence that this has happened since I've changed this setting, or my Video Drivers have removed the problem. But, it's worth a try.
Before you do it though. I take no responsibility if anything goes wrong : It hasn't on mine. I've had this setting on now for a long time, over two weeks now.

May 31, 2021 at 11:21 am #170085I am also having this black screen glitch in public rooms and is enough to be a nuisance.
It is just like the lights have gone out.
I can see name tags, the chat box and actions to the standing pose on the right but the room is dark.
I can restore, if I leave the room and return.
It then happens again, unexpectedly and there does not appear to be a pattern to it.Anyone else, still having this issue?
Did you resolve it?June 1, 2021 at 12:20 am #170119I’ve been having this problem ever since I bought a new P.C. with Windows 10. (Over a year now). Windows 7 worked perfectly.
You wait until you get the “glitch” when actually in room. Pain in the ass I tell you, but that hasn’t happened for sometime now. Sorry this is not helping is it. 😛
Increasing or decreasing the window in windowed mode restores the pic for a while. (You can then resize to the window size before it went black) But it is intermittent, the problem comes back sometimes, almost instantly. Using the compatibility option for ACHAT.exe also does not work. I’ve got the Run in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and I still get the black screen.
I’ve looked into this for sometime now and I can’t seem to find anything that helps. There is no pattern. My drivers are up to date Win 10 and Graphics. My Graphics Card is AN AMD.
The only other thing that I’ve found is if you reset the video driver using the below short cut
Win + Ctrl + Shift + B
The Screen goes black for a moment, beeps and then restores your picture. This again works only sometimes. Don’t get your hopes up.
June 1, 2021 at 12:28 am #170121Thanks Zuz, I appreciate your reply.
We will have to both grope around for the lights then LOL.I got fed up of it tonight though as it actually happened in my private room so went to 3d where I have a beautiful lake.
I have no issues there so has to be the Achat game.
Achat are you listening? This bug needs fixing too.
June 1, 2021 at 12:40 am #170125Just read my post and thought I’d changed it and pressed submit.
I mention Achat.exe, It isn’t. It’s achat_starter.exe. Shame I can’t just edit my previous post.
