true its a good reason too for not use the option who block free users i had forgot this
February 9, 2012 at 9:34 am #59235TightFit74ParticipantI have been in these almost 18 months, I have made firneds, found people that I care for and am intimate with. With some the relationship stretches beyond AChat. The argument that free users should not be blocked isn't completely valid in my eyes.
I decided to be even more scrutenous before accepting more friends. For the simple reason that I can get swamped at times when a lot of them are online. I want to talk to them all, or just talk to that one special person. If I am open for the whole community to approach, things can become unmanagable. Lol, though I have learned to juggle more as one conversation at the time. Who said men can't multitask
To each their own choice wether they want tp use it or not. I do hope that the options takes away a big bulk of the cold invites.. If one thing would help in making this more effective, is to read offline messages as soon as you reenter the big swimming pool. Meaning, if you've been busy and someone sent you a message, you have to log out and back in before you can read it. So if I am changing in a room and reenter AChat, I would have to log out to see what messages I missed. If I could read them straight away, it would be easier to find the person after you changed or altered your busy state…
February 9, 2012 at 9:53 am #59236hentaiboy69Participantmmmmhh, Tight, from my experience whit the busy button, i can tell you this: 2 days ago a free user friend had try to contact me, but i had block all the free users cause i'm probably chatting or something else (don't remember!). i dunno if he try to send me a private message, so i don't know if it works like when we are in room. i usualy relog when i leave the room to see if i have message, but…..why we had to do it!? isn't possible to load new message or friendship request whitout doing it!?
i'd really like to have an answer from Tom, to know if dev-team had ever think about this option.
February 9, 2012 at 10:13 am #59237LoverParticipantI can't answer for Tom HB, but I'm pretty sure there has to be a logoff to reset and restart the system to get messages and friends request.
February 9, 2012 at 10:47 am #59238priasParticipantIt's quite a good idea but it misses an option “available for known contact (friend, lover, spouse) only”
The “busy for all user” is not a bad idea when you're AFK for any reason, but the colour should be different to show that you're not available.
February 9, 2012 at 5:20 pm #59239KeikoParticipantIt would be helpful to add an option to type your own personalized away message that replies automatically when you receive a message just like the default one. That way when friends try to get my attention, they know why I am busy and how long it may take me to get back.
February 9, 2012 at 5:54 pm #59240AderaParticipantMaybe a cute Japanese smiley that says I'm busy in some way? I like Japanese smiley's, they are more expressive… though I don't bother writing them since they are kinda elaborate.
Something like this would be fun to have: ~(>o<")~... Sorry, busy

February 9, 2012 at 8:07 pm #59242bluedenimParticipantI have to say, I have used it and I like it.
It saves having to go into a room just to have a conversation with someone. 🙂
February 12, 2012 at 10:24 am #59243AderaParticipantDancing in sheer clothing can excite though. 😉
February 13, 2012 at 12:48 am #59244UrbanParticipantthe main drawback of the actual busy state it is we cannot filter message or invite independently 😡
February 13, 2012 at 1:02 pm #59245Janine DeeParticipantI personally think that's deliberate to keep us from abusing it.
I see it like the development team addressing things like wanting to character edit in peace, but not wanting to let us totally avoid the wider lists, and only talk to people we already know. As a chat program they need people chatting.
February 13, 2012 at 1:16 pm #59246AderaParticipantYour probably right Janine and I wouldn't have met a lot of wonderful people if I hadn't received their messages.
February 13, 2012 at 8:43 pm #59205PafeParticipantHiya's…
I voted for “I don't like it”. But I'm not sure if that's the right response. When I first started on AChat, I started as a free user. I was a free user for a couple of days in fact, and I would ask questions of the people here that I thought were Subscribers. I would ask about the advantages of being premium, and the options that I would have. Most were very helpful and kind, a few didn't answer and one told me to get lost. My point is that if this option were available then, and everyone or almost everyone was blocking the free user, I would have thought it was a bunch of snobs and not have signed up as a paying member. But… I too would like to block the cold invites, and those seem to come more from the free users than the premiums. So I'm stll kind of torn on the issue.
My friend Sat makes a valid point about the free users, though. She says that registering for free all you have to do is check the box for over 18 without proof of age, which makes it easier for someone too young to use the system. Her point is that she feels safer that way by only rooming with premium members who are paying in some way and she figures that they're probably over 18 then. I don't know if I made any sense in trying to articulate what she's thinking, and I'd love for her to get her butt in the Forum and write it herself. Hopefully I did.
I also think everyone who has posted on this have made valid points on the Busy State… Let's hope this is just a start, and they will make some more improvements to it.
Thanks for letting me share,
PafeFebruary 13, 2012 at 9:03 pm #59206TightFit74ParticipantPafe,
you have asked me question in game as well and have always been polite when doing so. I think that makes the difference. If everyone would keep to some form of decorum, I think the whole busy state would only be needed to be applied when changing clothes or banners.
The reasoning of Sat is not completely valid though. It doesn't work for female/shemale avatars. They can be gifted and acquite a subscription that way..I do think that if there is someone underaged, they are a free user…
I didn't vote because for the impementation is not completed yet..
