The gleaming steel sculpture on Reykjavik’s splendid waterfront at Sæbraut that resembles a Viking long-ship is the ‘Solfar’ or ‘Sun Voyager.’ The striking landmark was created by Icelandic sculptor Jón Gunnar Árnason.
Many locals enjoy a stroll on the waterfront and enjoy the view of Faxaflói bay with Mt. Esja in the background. The Sun Voyager is also a great attraction for tourists. It offers a superb photo opportunity, especially when the sun is setting or under the Northern lights.
