July 7, 2013 at 11:00 am #83225CovemsParticipantFor a reason that seems to be deep in me… upon seeing this mountain cascade…
… has conjured up a mental image similar to this …
… and this …
… and the thoughts that come to mind are …
…”We were watering the horses… but became… distracted” …

Warning with mountain rivers: water is cold, and the cold water has strange effect about man body
July 7, 2013 at 11:34 am #83227sexiliciousParticipantsee now that first picture would distract me. I love nature and animals so those things catch my eyes. Probably wouldn't see the naked bodies till I heard all the moaning

July 15, 2013 at 12:03 pm #83236CovemsParticipantPart of my GaGaLand includes therapy on the mountains behind the ranch. These next pictures are for our nature loving Miss Sexilicious. Being a naturalist, I thought you might appreciate them, along with some of the others here in the village.
I went on a ride up to here.
And on the way back down I was joined by this.On the ride up the mountain, the heat from the valley creates a draft that rises up the mountains. Our scent wafts ahead of us and most of the critters hide on our approach and remain unseen. Although I did spook some deer by the cascade. Mostly what you see is little chipmunks and squirrels… maybe a rabbit or two.
The way back down though is a different story, where you can sneak up on some of the wildlife. There's a bobcat in this picture, hiding in plain sight.
I was hunting that day… pulled out my trusty camera and shot him… then he ran off over the ridge.
July 15, 2013 at 1:13 pm #83237LoverParticipantAmazing pics Covems, thanks for sharing. I'm still searching the bobcat..lol.. though I have an idea.

a song comes to mindAmerica the Beautiful
Words by Katharine Lee Bates,
Melody by Samuel WardO beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee! -
