Fine then. Love the new James Bonds, they were raw, gritty and down to earth. I do enjoy the old ones with the gadgets and all but the new version made it more human(more believable).
That's the problems with the new bonds movies. It's too real. for me James bond could use a diving suit, fight with sharks and when he remove the suit he's wearing a with smoking in perfect condition and ready to go to the vilain's cocktail .
July 19, 2010 at 6:25 am #20009sinnnnParticipantBlack Beauty was a good movie. Another movie I thought was funny was called Meet the Feebles. Its the Muppets on all the drunks and liquer known to man. Sickest thing I almost ever seen.
July 19, 2010 at 7:35 am #20010Janine DeeParticipantI have to agree on the modern Bond. I think I mentioned in the book thread Don Pendleton's Executioner and how he strove for realism? It spoiled me, and now I can barely watch the over the top action stuff.
On a note for realism… Daylight. There's no gun play or anything, but a very “real” feeling movie.

Cloak and daggerJuly 22, 2010 at 3:31 pm #20012LoverParticipantsinnnn, you wrote you love the new Karate Kid. I think you're talking about Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith? This one is starting in Germany. I will watch it.
What about Cameron Diaz & Tom Cruise in “Knight And day”? This one also is starting soon, is it worth to watch it?
July 22, 2010 at 5:23 pm #20013sinnnnParticipantYup the one with Jackie was good. The original Karate was great but this version made it more raw and beautiful. They tore that lil boy a new one, when he got hit I clutched my own stomach. lol
Knight and Day, rather wait til it hits DVD. But the movie to go see is Inception with Leo Dicapo. I not going so say more on it but that I want to see it again. Splice is better of waiting for DVD. Going to see Salt this weekend, let you know bout that if you want.
RocknRolla
Snatch
GamerJuly 24, 2010 at 12:06 pm #20014LoverParticipantI don't know about Salt; probably this will appear later on this year here. But of course, tell us about it.
The Silence of the Lambs with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins. Both are great. But almost better is Red Dragon, the first part of Hannibal the Cannibal
July 26, 2010 at 5:04 pm #20015sinnnnParticipantThe Blair Witch Project–second one sucked.
Salt was good. Very good. She kicked ass as usual. Loved her in Wanted and Mr. and Mrs. Smith
July 26, 2010 at 5:53 pm #20016Janine DeeParticipantThe Blair Witch Sequels were all bad ideas. The first one was awesome, and proof that you don't need huge budgets to make good movies, but the sequels were the big money guys squealing “Us too!”
September 13, 2010 at 4:14 pm #20017sinnnnParticipantResident Evil: Afterlife was the best Res by far. Loved it. And my two girls were hot. Could have did without the 3d, not a fan of that so much. 😮 😮 😮 :-* :-* :-* :-*
😮 😮 😮 :-* :-* :-* :-*Expendables was great also.
Would be nice to see another Blade, but I'm scared he just might fuck it up.
September 13, 2010 at 5:42 pm #20018BearParticipantGood to hear about Resident Evil Afterlife,..local theater just installed a 3D system, so I'll be interested in seeing how that plays out. IMO just another ploy to raise the prices, but the gods of marketing are certainly using it to buffer slagging revenues. Hopefully they can development movies worthy of the investments, (god a 100k for installation of the equipment is pretty hefty, luckily this theater is pretty much progressive in thinking and catering to new technology, otherwise it's a 100 miles to the nearest 3d system).
I'll wait for the Expendables to come out on dvd..
September 13, 2010 at 10:45 pm #20019Janine DeeParticipantI don't think my local theater has 3D… though I'd feel obligated to see RE 3 first… but I'm planning on Netflix next month. So I can see RE 3, and then 4 and Expendables when they come out, but all three DO sound interesting.
Oh, and I was never able to get too much into Blade. The first one had the vamps part science and part sorcery (serums and Blood Gods) then it just became science, and kinda boring. Between that and nullifying the touching moment when his mentor had been tortured and turned and shot himself so he wouldn't rise as a vamp… meh. There are better vamp movies IMO.
September 14, 2010 at 6:04 am #20020BearParticipantsinnnn which 3D do you consider the best you've seen so far?
(Gratz on breaking a 1000 posts Janine Dee, just noticed it)
September 14, 2010 at 10:01 am #20021Janine DeeParticipantTY
September 28, 2010 at 6:17 pm #20022LoverParticipantI just watched Knight & Day with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise. I don't know if it's the German translation – but it's really a great movie, very funny.
