A scene from one of my favorite comedies: Coupling

Some background information on the setting: Steve (the main male character) has been caught earlier by his girlfriend Susan (the blonde female) with a porn movie called “Lesbian Spank Inferno”. He tried to talk his way out of it by insisting it's a real movie with a plot. Now Susan is going to get back at him at a dinner party with friends…

Coupling is so awesome! I'm especially glad you referred to the original british series and not the american version of it which, in my book, ended up as a parody rather than a tribute.

Anyway, I will never forget episodes like “Bruce's bar and grill + Giselle, the french bitch”, “the melty man cometh” and “the safe place” with the string quartet etc.
It was all so brilliant…

They did a remake of Coupling? That's so wrong!

Not that I don't like American comedy as well, on the contrary, but remakes like that are just a waste of time. For an outsider like me it's hard to understand why you even would want to remake a brilliant comedy if it's in the same language (more or less), but I guess that's a historical thing between the two nations or something

Cultural revision Carli, American tv executives do not like promote foreign shows where the accents or style of humor (not all Americans can appreciate the British form of humor) deter from show. It's typically revamped , toned down  and “Americanized” in setting and characters to gain wider audience appeal. That seldom equates into a better product. What clips I sorted through off of your link were hilarious, definitely add this to my winter watch list.

Hell they do a lot of remakes of foreign films and tv show.  Totally sucked.  I liked the original Nikka, not they are making a series out of it here.  Totally look lke it is going to suck.  If they ever try to Americanize Dr. Who I'm suing.
