Rest in Peace BB ….you will never really die as your music will keep you alive ..just like all the other greats that have passed. My thoughts with all your family and friends at this time x
Ronnie Gilbert, who lent her majestic contralto voice to the revival of folk music as a founder and sole female member of the Weavers, the celebrated quartet led by Pete Seeger, died June 6 at a nursing facility in Mill Valley, Calif. She was 88.
Music was always playing in my house when i grew up and my folks loved the weavers and other great folk artists of the time, and it gave me an appreciation of the genre to this day.
I know how this feels .. in my house it was Gene Kelly and when he died I think I felt like a part of me went with him. As a child he was the comfort for me , he made me dream and want to be the leading Role Lady with him …even as young as 5 yrs old . Back then it was all true Ladies and Gentlemen so there wasn't sex on the tv ..it was just Romance And Dancing .. The women were feminine and the men smart and nicely turned out .. I Always wanted to wear those dresses and be the prettiest Lady .. funny how many things can bring such comfort ..Elvis Presley being another one. . Take the memories and smile , that is the legacy left for you
On 7th of June, Sir Christopher Lee passed away. He was an actor, singer and author. He was well kown as Count Dracula, but also was in James Bond movie, Lord of Rings and Star Wars. We have lost a great actor.
