    Hi Tift *hugs*

A preoccupied feline finds her way back to familiar territory. Picking up a friendly scent and echoes of choonz past. The scents remain but the music’s gone silent, a hound let down by a cat. *Well, it was when i entered… began writing.” 😁

NO. It’s not OK that I didn’t reply. Though not a promise, they were MY words. THAT is all I am… here. Failing them, leaves me empty. THAT hurts, gnawing at me. I’ve no excuse but am sorry.

I’ve often referred to myself as a Forum dweller… spending more time here than in game. But it’s a place I find magical, where spirits can be sampled getting a “sense” of them through posts and words without introduction or proximity. I’ve been blessed to find a few special gems here… and one priceless. 😍 at Andrea. Though we’ve only “met” once… you are one of those. I feel a connection in many of your posts… music, poetry and art. Attracted to your spirit like moth to light.

Call me a groupie of sorts 😉 You have added more to my playlist than any other. PERIOD. And while listening… discovering something within. From the Singles to new Artists, you keep me coming back for more. Though I no longer pop in daily… I read your every post, listen to your every song. From Temper Traps Love Lost to Linsey Lou’s Everything Changed… and everything in between.

While too many to share I’ll list my favs… from the Singles

The ones that got me up n dancing…

Reina Del Cid’s – This One’s Gonna Hurt… gets this feline dancing, every time. A no brainer add to my PL along with the playful n infectious Molly Bunch’s Wild 😉 so happy you decided to post it and Ruby Rabbitfoot’s Do Me Right. Ohh, can’t forget the delicious Lady Lamb – Strange Maneuvers either.

The ones that got me listening….

Tanya Davis’s Potatoes and MaMuses Glorious – songs of life’s simple pleasures.
Weather Station – Tamara Lindeman’s meandering storytelling voice in Thirty. Mhmm
Birds of Chicago – Allison Russell’s smooth as honey voice in Superlover. Yummy
Paul James’ Possessed with its catchy riffs and unexpected poignant reminding us a moment lasts but a blink, a memory… lifetime.

Then there are the Artists that spoke to my heart… loving almost everything you shared, and I could find.
From the always easy listening May Erlewine to the one that pierces my heart deepest, Anna Tivel… hooking me immediately with her melody, voice n lyrics. Every song… honey to my ears. “This one’s also for Kaitlyn, I hope it’s acceptable.” Pretty sure that’s a YES. 👍

While it was “love at first listen” for Anna… it was a much longer courtship with Laura Marling. But slowly she relentlessly clawed her way under my skin into my heart one listen at a time. And Dawn Landes… well, she is still workin on me. 😉

I’ve rambled long enough for one overdue post. But before leaving… this cat will drop a choon for the houndz to listen n gnaw on. From an artist who has rocked my soul from the beginning… oops, slight change… seems I’ve already posted that song. TWICE. 🤣 Want something NEW, hopefully something you’ve never heard. For you n yours…
Fiona Apple… I Want You to Love Me

Hope this post finds you well and leaves you smiling as your posts leave me.

    *hugs* Kait

Cats on Trees… a fine place to lounge while listening to choonz. It’s the getting down part me don’t like. Mhmm, poetry with music. A twofer, I’ll lap that up. Cats are greedy, can’t help ourselves… wanting it all. 😉

This cat readily admits the studio version is a better “quality” listen… but to experience THIS song as its poet intended… even with the less than stellar audio is a NO Brainer. Studio just don’t do this song right.

    Patti Smith – Dancing Barefoot

    “I’m dancing barefoot
    hit me where I spin.
Some strange music draws me in
Makes me come on like heroine.”

An unfamiliar sound penetrating the air awakens a feline’s ears. Its howl pitched uniquely, whining thru the breeze most pleasantly in search of an audience. Finding one 😁 enjoyed that. Confesses it’s one of the reasons cats like hanging out in trees… not only for protection but best place to surf soundwaves. 😉

As for Daisey May and that piano bloke… these ears have a weakness for the tickle of piano keys and just like Anna, Daisey May’s lyrics n voice entrap.

Mmm, speaking of Anna 😊 this one’s for turning me onto her. Kinda surprised a hound hadn’t already buried this bone somewhere in the Forum, but all this nose could sniff out was Dust & Magic and The Question. So, before a hound beats this cat to the pounce and hopeful you haven’t yet had a listen…

Enjoying a Tivel breakfast 😊 Listening to each post… giving these ears something to dine on with my java. This cat savoring the knowledge Two Strangers WAS a virgin listen. mmm, simple pleasures.

“The first time I saw you… was waiting for a train.” That opening line reminding me of the last line in another “slice of life” kinda song. So ofc… couldn’t resist this next one, no matter how different. The subtle connections… shouting at me. 😉

Is it a song, a story or just rambling thoughts? Does it matter? Stripped of instrumental distractions, no tickle of piano keys or twang of guitar strings… leaving naked a single musical essential… a voice wanting to be heard. One of countless.

“And I finish up my coffee… and it’s time to catch the train.”

I’ve wanted to sneak this on for a while now
as it keeps playing getting deeper under my skin

“When we were in love, if we were
    When we were in love
    You were a dove
And I rose above you and preyed”

    It’s a cock-eyed Valentines

Time to shake it up… add some swagger to my wagger.

Sometimes it’s all about the BASS, a certain boom-boom that turns me into a marionette.
Like the vibe its groove makes me sway… and LUVS that jumpsuit. 😁 Spring IS approaching.

    AMY ALLEN – DIFFICULT

At times… we’re ALL a little “Difficult”, especially CATS 😉
