Sounds like a virtual version of the dating game.
The question is how would you be sure the “winner” and the date are compatible?
What if the person is homosexually oriented and not interested or vice versa? The other problem is how do you maintain anonymity? Everyone would message to the host?
June 14, 2010 at 10:43 pm #17752sinnnnParticipantI don't want the bidders to be secret. I did say that the person who is being auctioned would have the right to decline if they do not feel comfortable with the bidder. The auctioned then can choose from the second highest bid. And its more to make friends an hang thats why I said no sex(unless thats what you and the bidder decide), so if you are hoping to hook up it really would make no sense what so ever for a homosexual to bid on a hetero adn vise versa.
June 15, 2010 at 2:21 am #17753BearParticipantMaybe I missed it, what is being used as currency for this?
June 15, 2010 at 7:17 am #17754MaxCravenParticipantI've actually seen this kind of thing done in another game. A date actuion, one time it was a slave auction lol. Only difference was it used game money which went to charity. I think it would work here as long as no $A is involved. Got enough people taking advantage of that already.
June 15, 2010 at 7:39 am #17755Ramrod29ParticipantI say fuck it, life is too short not to. Either way it makes for a lotta laughs. The only thing I could see is the time difference, who wants to stay up the latest, that sort of thing.
June 15, 2010 at 10:08 am #17756Janine DeeParticipantRight now Bear that's one of the details that's being worked out.
June 28, 2010 at 3:29 pm #17757LoverParticipantI want to bring this idea back on top. I still think there is potential in it.
One of the last question was about the time difference. One possibility is not to have a live auction, but a start and a finish time (2 or 3 days). Or just to start one try live and to see what's happening.
June 28, 2010 at 6:33 pm #17758sinnnnParticipantI agee, just being lazy.
June 28, 2010 at 10:55 pm #17759Janine DeeParticipantI think if we really want to go ahead with this we should discuss what people would be bidding.
June 29, 2010 at 2:17 pm #17760sinnnnParticipanthow bout we let the the person being auctioned decide what they are willing to offer. Lets say I was being auctioned and if you bid on me you get a normal date with a full course meal cooked by me(this is an example, I know you can't eat the damn food).
But if we do this then there has to be a list of ppl wanting to be auctioned an make dates an times when the auction takes place.
First the rules has to be made. hmmmmm.
June 29, 2010 at 2:25 pm #17761LoverParticipantI know you can't eat the damn food
Are you such a bad cook?
As long as there are women we are bidding for we could use A$. The ebay principle: The last bid gets it for 1A$. Of course we have to think about what can be paid for men, as they can't receive gifts.
June 29, 2010 at 2:29 pm #17762LoverParticipantThe people being auctioned can get a task:
For example, creating a short story, writing a poem, wearing a special dress…June 29, 2010 at 2:35 pm #17763sinnnnParticipantwell wouldn't that make it selling oneself if you offer A$ and a chic/guy offer sex. Was hoping to avoid that issue.
June 29, 2010 at 2:45 pm #17764LoverParticipantMust it be selling sex? I thought we left that kind of discussion, as we said it's fun and a game. We also said it must not be sex, you also can talk in the room.
Take a look to my other suggestion (I know you did). Is this more what you prefer? Just turn: The tenderer do something and the auctioned decide which he/she likes best. But then, what is his/her offer?June 29, 2010 at 2:50 pm #17765sinnnnParticipantYeah but you got some who will point it out an kill the fun. I thought I'd address it now and get it totally out of the way.
