    Ran across this funny article

    When Playgrounds Were Deadly

    http://flashbak.com/when-playgrounds-were-deadly-35924/?utm_content=buffer199aa&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer

And thought it might be fun to share memories of playgrounds and toys that would never be allowed today.

we had one of these that looked just like this one, and cant count how many of my friends got hurt on it. we would get the teenagers to stand in a circle and push it to insane speeds till we would fly off on to the asphalt. Or laying on our stomachs, finger ski on the pavement with Popsicle sticks, which lead to stubbed and broken fingers.

This is the “thing maker”  you made your very own plastic insects with metal molds and a crucible that got very hot.

we had a saying about this toy…………“learn from the thing maker or get burned from the thing maker”.
