James 1:19 NLT
“You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry
March 17, 2015 at 10:47 pm #142508AnonymousThis is something I could use for a dear friend of over 30 years
He recently had surgery for two cancerous brain tumors. Surgery removed 90% of them several weeks ago, but his most recent CT has shown the return of the cancer with a vengeance. The DRs. have said there is nothing more they can do for him at this time and his wife has brought him home to be with his family.
This is a man of GOD that has 2 sons of his own and has fostered countless other troubled young children. He went to the woman's prison where he lived every Sunday to preach and bring hope to those that needed it.
I had the pleasure of spending my military career as a roommate with this great man for many years.
Please send any prayers and loving thoughts his way in Texas.
For my brother in arms…
I will never forget you. GOD'S speed my friend.
April 6, 2015 at 7:41 am #142509THE
BRICK
A young and successful
executive was traveling down a neighborhood street,
going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar.. He was
watching for kids darting out from between parked
cars and slowed down when he thought he saw
something.
As his car passed, no children appeared.
Instead, a brick smashed into the Jag's side door!
He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to
the spot where the brick had been thrown.
The angry
driver then jumped out of the
car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up
against a parked car shouting,
'What was that all about and who are you? Just what
the heck are you doing? That's a new car and that
brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why
did you do it?' The young boy was apologetic.
'Please, mister…please, I'm sorry but I didn't
know what else to do,' He pleaded. 'I threw the
brick because no one else would stop….' With tears
dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth
pointed to a spot just around a parked car.. 'It's my
brother, 'he said 'He rolled off the curb and fell
out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him
up.'
Now sobbing, the boy
asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help
me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt and
he's too heavy for me.'
Moved beyond words,
the driver tried to swallow the rapidly swelling
lump in his throat… He hurriedly lifted the
handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took
out a linen handkerchief and dabbed at the fresh
scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything
was going to be okay. 'Thank you and may God bless
you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too
shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy!
push his wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk
toward their home..
It was a long, slow
walk back to the Jaguar. The damage was very
noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair
the dented side door. He kept the dent there to
remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life
so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to
get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and
speaks to our hearts Sometimes when we don't have
time to listen, He has to throw a brick at us. It's
our choice to listen or
not.
Thought for the
Day:
If God had a
refrigerator, your picture would be on
it.
If He had a wallet,
your photo would be in
it.
He sends you flowers
every spring.
He sends you a sunrise
every morning Face it, friend – He is crazy about
you!
Send this to every
'beautiful person' you wish to
bless.
God didn't promise
days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun
without rain, but He did promise strength for the
day, comfort for the tears, and light for the
way.
Read this line very
slowly and let it sink
in…
If God brings you to
it, He will bring you through
it.

Hello, I just would like to start off with I am so sorry that your friend as well as a vet of our country, is going through this horrific time in his life. I also would like to say I understand how you feel for I just been through the very same thing with my sister, and know what its like to be in your shoes…with that being said I come as humbled as I know…to help try to bring you and your friend some comfort. Here are some scriptures that are calling for a healing and I pray too that they are received and applied in Godspeed timing.
~Leigh~1 Peter 2:24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1 John 5.14-15
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.Mark 9:23 Everything is possible for him who believes.
Here is a prayer requesting healing along with scripture….
Dear Lord of Mercy and Father of Comfort.
You are the One I turn to for help in moments of weakness and times of need.
I ask you to be with your servant in this illness.
Psalm 107:20 says that you send out your Word and heal.
So then, please send your healing Word to your servant.
In the name of Jesus, drive out all infirmity and sickness from his body
AMEN!!!April 12, 2015 at 5:31 pm #142511April 13, 2015 at 9:33 am #142512April 13, 2015 at 9:35 am #142513April 13, 2015 at 9:47 am #142514this is so true
April 13, 2015 at 6:10 pm #142515Titus 2:12
Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions,
and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Galatians 5:21
Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things
will not inherit the kingdom of God.

April 16, 2015 at 12:04 pm #142518A Prayer for Hope
Heavenly father, I am your humble servant, I come before you today in need of hope. There are times when I fell helpless, There are times when I feel weak. I pray for hope. I need hope for a better future. I need hope for a better life. I need hope for love and kindness.
Some say that the sky is at it's darkest just before the light. I pray that this is true, for all seems dark. I need your light, Lord, in every way.
I pray to be filled with your light from head to toe. To bask in your glory. To know that all is right in the world, as you have planned, and as you want it to be.
Help me to walk in your light, and live my life in faith and glory.
In your name JESUS I pray, Amen.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Dear Lord, see me through these hard times. In these troubling times, I am filled with unspeakable fears. I reach out my hand to you now, And ask you to walk besides me. I cannot carry all my burdens, But I know you can, and will. Please walk beside me. Please guide me. Please help me hold on strong, Through the trials and storms. Help me hold on to my faith, In even the darkest hour. Stay with me Lord, And show me Your way. In your love and Holy Spirit I abide. Amen.
