    I was just thinking to myself here. If a great many of the variables are localized. This would then greatly hinder the capacity to how they are used. In that they can only ever exist in the form they were localized to. And placement anywhere else would only see a unlinking, or inactive element. While this still would allow for GUI restructuring. It would hinder the ability of a modder to come up with better ways to manage elements or sets of elements. That enabling them on a globalized scale would do.

    With that said I would hope the Achat developers would globalize a set of variables for modders to use. Maybe even afford modders a list of globalized variables. Along with the localized variables and to what windows they exist within. This would greatly take the guess work out for modders, and allow a sort of list  of things they can play with functionally.

    The other thing being the following. While I do know how to do graphics and the like on a visual scale. If there is to be a modded AChat. It should be developed in part as a community mod. I will then say I will opt to assist with editing the .win files.

    Roles for a mod would include (not a complete list) :
    * Someone to edit and design elements into .win file(s)
        – An easier way would to assign a few modders to this task. Giving each one specific .win files in which they are to manage.
    * Someone to edit and design .dds elements in a graphics editor
        – Understanding of design is also key when doing graphics.
    * Someone to edit and design workable layouts using both .dds and .win files.
        – They do not mod the .win files. Only figure out ways to put it all together, and know it will work. knowledge of .win structure is helpful.
        – Simply someone who designs a layout and tells the modders who do the .win edits or .dds graphics this is what they want, and get to it =).

    * Locale – Allow users to set a locale for themselves. Which other users can either search for, only allow, etc. For example “English”. And use a icon flag to represent that locale. And possible add that icon to the left of a users name. When looking at their information or in searches.

    * Gender Orientation – Since asking for Transgender to be added to the Male/Female/Shemale might be a bit of work. Allow us to define our gender role. As you can have by birth male and female transgenders. Who identify and connect with the opposite sexual identity. I had to pick shemale myself, because no transgender option existed. However having a female born transgender pick shemale I would think they would find offensive. Or for those who do not know, for them to pick male. I know I found picking shemale offensive. Though only option available without being misleading. As shemales do not always identify in the same way as transgenders, and vice versa. Hence why the two exist to begin with.

    * Re-introduction of a general AChat chat room. Keep it text based only. And a room that people can enter and leave as they wish. Where they can talk openly to all. There would be no whispering in the actual room being made.

    * Name coloring .. People that message you, should be colored by their gender.

    * Name icon .. anyone that messages you thats on your list as lover,friend,spouse should have an icon to the left of their message to you. For example a simple icon of a buddy icon.

    Would you mind if I move this to Support/templates? Perhaps we get more ideas and help and then we have one single board for it.

    Sure hun. =)  I figure even if they are .win files least it gives us something to modify on a GUI scale. And could potentially allow for many diffent people to make their own skinned versions of the AChat interface.

    On a side note I want to do a version of the GUI myself as I get more time. Currently that would be fairly slow. I have many ideas on how to do a re-design. I am a digital painter as well as a scripter/programmer. All of them self taught. So don't think I'm amazing. -heh- Though I do have an AA for when I used to do graphic design. Only schooling I really had ..

    Well as I noted in older threads the visual capacity of Achat is completely and currently mod capable, by anyone with time and ability. My only issue is they are using .win files -cringe- over xml templating. Though so much of it is purely visual. That modding it would make for a very nice representation.

    As far as extending text and capacity of what is stored. That is currently doable. Thing there is the limits are most likely only software hardcoded, not server side. I do not suggest doing that however. As Achat may not take kindly to storing more on their servers by a program, than intended. I do know how to do this myself, though I will not. I am willing to expand and help. Not annoy the devs. So I will only give help on how to visually change the client and nothing more.

    As far as creating collapsable frames with information , etc. That is actually currently doable. That would require creating events and basic structure in the given .win files. To collapsing and expanding via clicks. To get some samples to examine to doing this. Examine the in-game clothing module, then find its like data in a .win. You could then design containers to placing the data in, and expanding as needed via clicks or mouseover.

    In honest truth the devs need to switch to using xml templates. It is far faster than creating .win files and far easier when editing. Why for the great many years xml has been out, why people use it. You could design a xml template in a much shorter time than it would take you to do a comparable .win. And plus its also very easy to re-edit when needed. And xml can embed into other xml for reuse. .win you have to copy the data over etc etc.

    As far as creating a linkable profile that would be nice. It may be possible to gather the user # from Achat as it populates data. Thus using this data to create a link to them. Currently this would be potentially doable. Thing here is if anyone wanted to use this feature, they would have to download the modded version that did just that.

    As for customized profiles. You can add textures to .win files via .dds. A set of backgrounds, elements, schemes all could be loaded into a folder. Then pulled out when a user customizes their page with it. As far as anything that can be done, this actually is amazingly easy to add. Though with the requirement to save this data and show it to other users. Would need Achat to add it themselves. I played with a mock customization and was able to do one in just a few minutes of .win edits and .dds. So it would take very little time also for Achat to add this in.

    Anniemay, you are wrong……even if you said “ANY user”, honestly i don't know where to start to do it…….my knoledge of programming on pc is barely near to  -100!   :D

    -heh- Any is a catch all silly bean. Meaning that anyone in Achat can do it. Did not say anyone could do it effectively well =P. You can open a graphics editor, and a text editor just like you manage to open Achat. After that hunny you are on your own. -giggles- PLUS! skinning often does not require coding knowledge. For example editing Achats .dds and .win files, is simply just having a design sense. And knowing what does what.

    Oh and just on a general to those viewing the above pic. I wanted to push settings and all that stuff into a menu that popped up when 'esc' was pressed. Yes yes would mean the lil wrench would go bye bye. Though I feel 'Messages' should be a neat lil mail icon over the text. So the wrench would be removed. Its contents etc placed into the 'esc' menu. Then 'Messages' would be converted to just a mail icon. Replacing the wrench icons place on the bar.

    Nor did I say you were. Just was clarifying if misunderstood. -huggles- Though also stating again a lot of your suggestions can be done now in the edit to the .dds and .win files. If you ever so choose to do so. No need to wait on the Achat dev team there. The main exclusion would just be the Achat shop bit, the rest should be doable.

    -hugs hun- No not everyone can skin, it is what makes skinning in its own right an art. The image format Achat uses is .dds. The above links work for various graphic editors to allow importing,exporting,saving of .dds format so Achat will use it.

    The .win files are structured files for window elements etc. Like where the graphics are to be placed, where a button might go, etc.
    For example the below image is a edited .win file. Which pushes many of the originally floating buttons to the top. Its a rough example.

    * zzz changed to state
    * login/logout now occupy the same screen space
    * Search / Character Editor now occupy the same screen space
    * Removed maximize,help,exit for a future idea in other placements
    * Pushed Settings (wrench) to the far left

    Mostly just an example of what you can do with a edited .win file.

    With more patience and more work a entirely new GUI interface can be designed by ANY user for Achat. Without requesting and/or waiting for the Achat dev team to get around to it. Of course this means working with ONLY current elements. As anything more would not have the applicable coding to link with. And would just be a empty element.

    For the devs however I would suggest abandoning win and using xml.

    not sure what you mean about skin color, character type and favorites. They only appear in expanded form in the editor anyway not to another user. I haven't even thought about the “partner search” or “in room” windows. Well, that isn't true, I have thought a lot about them but see my comment to AnnieMay.

    Anything over a year old is already out of date. My ideas were based on things that I felt could be achieved easily and quickly using the same fundamental interface. I refrained from suggesting what might be considered by some to be a complete rethink. I am not holding my breath with regard to anyone responsible even looking at what I had proposed, let alone acting on it. That was literally done off the top of my head when I was bored for a few minutes and, to a certain extent, for my own amusement.

    The old was not aimed at you , was at the devs (My comment even noted it toward the devs). You didn't do the coding to that. The layout coding is a lot older than a year in that regard using a .win structure. XML templates have been widely used for some time now. As far as a complete rethink. That is why I supplied you with a method to restructuring it the way you like. And potentially sharing it with other users, beyond just a adapted graphic. The given files can be easily modified.

    Was showing you how since some of your changes can be done yourself, in edit to the graphic and window templates. And if you come up with a neat design to share it. =) More drastic changes would need Achat to do it themselves. Though graphic changes with button reassignment etc can be done without them in an edit. I do hope you act on it as it is something that you or I, or anyone else can do. Figured if you knew how to edit the files you would try. Hence why I listed how to.

    I may do a window/graphic redesign eventually myself. Though college comes first. =)

    So skin away you .. skin away. For those wondering what I mean by skin. Read all the aforementioned texts, you'll get the idea of skin and re-skin.

    To work with .dds in a editor you will need a plug-in for it.

    Perhaps we can have a dropdown menu “Prefered languages” below country. We also can remove the skin colour and just have it in editor.

    Yes and the shop could be included as in my original thought and also made of with an idea here. For example I looked at what Achat was coded in, peeked. If you are curious of the development platform it is Visual Studio. There are webkits available for the devs to use. This makes it  entirely possible for the devs to include a browser or browser-like function inside the program. In short they could create a tab/window that directly links to the shop. Which would display within that tab/window. The redesign could just be applied to the online web store.

    As far as repositioning things or making new graphics.

    .dds – Can be edited in GIMP or other editors. (graphics)
    .win – Can be edited in any text editor. (element) aka windows/etc.

    As far as new things that would need of course coding, or it would just be a meaningless template.

    To be completely honest the devs are using a very old style in development coding. It is better and more flexible to use XML templates. It allows for rapid development from either the devs or any user modifications. This is why many applications are now using XML templates. And if anyone says this is beyond the scope of the program. It is not. XML templating is COMPLETELY possible.

    As far as the text files pulled into the program at requested times. Instead of having it all out as it is now. It could be stored all in a .zip file. That the program traverses for the required file, then reads it. Rather than it lay in a bunch of text files in a folder.

    Thinking about it. Pretty much a lot of the data Achat has. Could be stored in some way. This would reduce it from being 2 GB about on a machine. While some might say I have enough. Its not so much enough over what is the need to be messy for? Its the same way how coders will try and make their code as neat and as efficient and as small as they can. Its good practice.

    We have talked about in the past, You need a dropdown menu to do it where people can choose their languages. I don't believe its possible with the current software version but perhaps it will be in the future….

    Also a problem of the current software. But it's a long wish here and we even want more – we want to change clothes in room or at least having a changing room.

    The shop is growing frequently and we'll get more and more clothes. Just we man need more very soon ;)

    The “Group sex partners” template can be used to enable a locale setting. IE give people a few locales that they wish to contact them. For example myself. I could pick “English” & “Spanish”. While it wouldn't look amazingly pretty using that template. That would enable the fastest creation of the idea. Until it can be modified better later on.

    As far as clothing as OP's have stated and you with growing. I find its growth a bit slow. I'm a woman with ever rapidly growing tastes. I would love to see a clothing mall with a lot more options. At this current rate, even with some here and there user submissions. We wont see a decent mall for years. When the devs could sit down to designing full clothing packs. There are also 3D clothing/packs you can get at a small cost. That can be tweaked for any model (And if they do not have the software that it was made in, most software products have converters). Which could be a option for now to give more things to wear.

    As for the clothing mall built into the software. Its only a problem given that it has not been designed/thought of yet. To put it in would take very minimal code work. Over designing a tab, a structured layout. The purchases via clicks would submit data to the website as the one online does.

    And on the odd “why?” for removing the option to set a relation to the robots. They can not accept and/or deny any relation request. There is no need to. When looking the robots up the software should just exclude the options to setting any relation. Its a small fix. Like why you can't invite yourself. You should just not be able to see the relationship stuff for the robots.

    Place it as an example like so :

    Settings

    Logout
    Exit

    Help

    Include in settings the option for full screen check box. And then also give it a easy F key to toggle it on and off. So you can either set it via settings. Or clicking that F key.

    Then placing messages, relations, zzz, character editor to the left of the window. And then music to the far right. Placing zzz up with the rest of the menu items instead of floating on the screen.

    Example > Language: English. Which would tell people I want only english speaking people to contact me.

    Simple fix to bots.

    Would love to see a lot more things to wear than what there is. I see so many new poses always coming out. When the outfit selection I feel needs more work. Focus on outfits for a bit over new poses. Guys might be okay with one shirt and one pair of jeans. Though us girls like a lot more to pick from. =)

    Some women are not lesbians in real but may play a bit in type as one.

    Some men are not handsome but want to pretend they are.

    Some people get annoyed being gifted
    Some people want more than “oh ya baby, ooo” …

    Could keep going -heh-. Anyways, as far as using caps to define women and men is silly, honestly. Women are not the only ones educated in the caps feature. I was born a man slowly changing to be more like how I feel, a woman. So do I tell people because I dress up mostly in girls clothing, act female, with only some changes to who I am. That I must act female with caps, plus whatever is self expected? I know you are just making some things for mention. Though, for some trying to cross barriers. It might be offensive. And not sure why others didn't catch that it might. With that said do pay attention we are all trying to fill fantasies, to be ourselves, to wander into length of chatter with others outside sexual. I would hate to see users posting lists of people just wanting to explore, to be themselves, to doing what gives them their greatest joy. I may not be a born woman, but I rock my heels hunny. And I love who I am. Let others love who they are as well.

    To me more than just a random encounter would be sharing more personal moments. Since Achat is keen on random encounters, being more personal isn't something many will want. Do not take offense when I say, this isn't looking for hook-ups,dating etc. True, it might happen. That isn't the services focus. And do consider theres some real creepers out there. Get to know someone a bit at length hun. Then pop the question to talk or more. Build up to it =)

    Welllllllll .. -skipped most of the comments, sorry- Figured I'd give some background on myself at least. I am a twin of a dead twin (twinless twin). She was female and I was regretably the other. All my life I never considered myself the way I was born. Conflicted. Confused. It lead to so much depression and anger. To always feel I was not born the way I felt and saw myself. To call me the gender I was, disgusted me. I have not had a ton of money so only have had a few operations. I still feel incomplete, conflicted. I DO NOT consider myself “male” at all. And prefer to be address and refered and treated like any woman should. I still sadly have conflicts as I still have “male” parts. I would rather not. Now about roles and thoughts as some pointed above. I am female in mind and spirit, I see me only that. I engage with men, I do not consider me homosexual. Though this twisted world would say I am. I love to feel a mans touch as a woman, not as a “male”. If I can be so bold I hate the whole homosexual tag. I prefer to say I am me. The best damn me I can be. Even as incomplete as I feel, it is still me inside. Even before my surgeries and being with men. I never once considered me as a homosexual. Only ever, doing what I felt inside. To do what any woman would do. To love a man, to have a bond, a soulmate. Though even before all my surgeries. Who would have called me hetero, as a “male” in love with another man. When I am no disgusting man =) -no offense to men hehe-
