I think the problem New is that I don't know of any way to make sure that the photos weren't copyrighted that wouldn't be a HUGE use of resources. For me it's about having options. Honestly I almost always forget to turn it on until the lame pick up lines have me remembering “Oh right, I CAN shut them up.”

As far as personal experiences, i was a free less then a day… I think it was less then six hours. I logged on, had a guy try to “help” me by inviting me into a room (I thought that meant a private channel like in most chat programs) and then try to get me to click the flashing box so he could bend me over and fuck me.

In spite of that I left, and discovered Robot Girl, saw what poses I could use, and saw what poses I could use if I went premium, and went out to get a prepaid card to pay for my first years membership.

Even with the free blocking option AChat still offers an impressive level of access to free users.

I'll play devil's advocate here, and say the option is not locked. You actually have to turn it on each time, and while we can point out single cases of free users turning out well even the first post in this thread admits there is the desire to ignore bad frees, and if I'm given the tool to screen all them I'm not going to be ashamed to use it.

I don't use it all the time, but there are plenty of those who give me plenty of reason to be glad it's there.

I guess the question becomes… what has lead us to think this is really needed? From what I have seen we're doing rather well with the resources we're providing. I'm thinking it was sort of a brainstorm kind of suggestion that's being explored, but the reception seems… cool at best.

Let me join the well wishes chas. I don't think anyone her ever wanted to say it was bad or wrong (some saying it was wrong for them) more that it should be handled carefully, like you did. As Lover said, you developed there relationship rather than those who just get it into their head to move from meeting on AChat to meeting in real life.

I will say that my interactions with Unhealer were few, and far between, and during his unfortunately rare moments where he didn't seem to be embracing the obnoxiousness that everyone here seems willing to admit were his rather his trademark.

To perhaps expand on Tight's comment I would say that people who act like that are acting like that to get a response out of you, and giving them one encourages their behavior. They know they are being obnoxious, and like Apollo titled this thread… they think it is funny. So if any response will encourage their behavior then no response is the only way to derail them.

I would recommend restarting the general chat options, with refinement if necessary.

I think that the AChat community will grow to fit the box it's put in, and if the box is made bigger the community will grow to fill it. With an expanded chat people can form more connections with others without the annoyance that comes with colds and gets easily mixed up with the colds (sometimes deliberately on the colds part) and it's those connections that that seem peoples commonly listed reason for going premium.

The Forum link in the game is also a great idea for much of the same reason, and could even give some suggestions for the structuring of the chat. (Established rooms for orientations like the threads for one.)

While the rooms are magnificent I think they are reaching the point where adding poses and refining graphics can only does so much. I think the next area to be developed should be the community itself.

To give it some scale there is that I think by the time you go premium or at least are premium for any length of time you develop enough friends that odds of a multiconversation are quite good, combined with those who use those kind of questions as a set up to try to room “Oh, could you show me how it works?” The fact that nearly half of those who take time they've paid for to help those who haven't is really rather impressive to me.

I also feel the need to say that the free user vs premium member to me is more then fair as premium is tangibly contributing to the community and free isn't. I'm sure that sounds cruel, but if I'm putting in my own money I think I should rate higher then someone who's here, honestly, on my (and other premium's) dime.
