I walk around looking to the other guests. I don't want to talk now. First I want to find out who they are. So I stand in some distance of them. Just as far enough they don't talk to me, but close enough to listen to them.

My suggestion:
We do this here in the forum. There can be more rounds, if we like it. We fix a date (day/hour) and then a moderator or “the price itself” asks 3 questions and the bidders give their answers, ona after the other. Either the bachelor/bachelorette decides or every member votes for the winner.
