    Hi,
    again a false detection

    AChat does not contain viruses.
    We check our system continuously with 6 different antivirus programs.

    The problem is, that most of these antivirus programs make heurustic detection, that means they analyse exe files and try to find out if there is a virus without checking the real behaviour of the program.

    AChat connects to the internet and downloads upgrades, communicates with the server. I looks like this fact can cause false detections, but we try to clarify these thing with virus protection software vendors.

    McAfee put already on their white list the upgrader, we hope we can clarify problems like this with all major antivirus software vendors.

    Hi,
    with new updates Norton makes FALSE detection in AChat. We try to clarify the situation with Symantec.
    Please open the quarantine and restore the file achat.exe.

    Achat should work with Windows 7 without problems, at least we don't have problems with it.
    (High detail installs only texture and music files, should not cause problems at all…)

    Furcon! One question: do you have in the directory 'upgrade_dir' the file versioninfo.bin ?
    According to the log AChat cannot open this file.

    How do you start AChat? Is the icon on your desktop?

    Most common problem is the firewall. Windows has firewall, antivirus program can have firewall, and also router can have firewall.

    We have checked, Avast says nothing about our running version.
    (we use Avast, McAfee, AWG, Kaspersky, Norton, NOD32, neither of them says anything)

    The high res update was replaced, now it should work fine. Just download and install, it should work after the next game start.

    AChat will be tested with XP, Vista and Win7, all they should work without problems. AChat doesn't need any compatibility mode under Win7 or Vista, but of course should run using compatibility mode also.

    Could you please send us the file startlog.txt from the AChat directory, so that we can check if there is any additional info about the crash?

    I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I spent the A$900 for the new room and CANNOT USE IT!
