TomHParticipant
Rukya, since you asked for a different kind of story. Here is one for you:
Once upon a time I didn't give a shit
Based on true eventsOnce upon a time there was xx, xxx and xxxx. They all had one thing secretly in common, well… they all were different names for the queen. Something that was useful, not only when scheming and ruling, but also in the matters of love, because a queen like her needed her own rat pack. Her husband xxxxx loved wasp very much and so did her second, xxxx husband xxxxx. xxxxx was her favourite lover, but most loyal to xx was her pet xxxxx.
A coincidence was that all of them happened to be moderators, sorry, except for xxxx ofcourse. He was just a jester in the threads. And to be honest, xxxx was not a moderator in the castle, he was the owner and moderator of the Circle. He was the idealist among her men, trying to create a place for ordinary people.
xxx, the untouchable queen, was laughing at her underlings while her husbands and lovers adored her. So strong was her power that the others would follow her into death. Her castle stood high with thick walls and a high ivory tower. Armed with lies, patronising and defences.
Sometimes it got a bit boring in the ivory tower and queen xxx stepped down from her throne, redressed to one of her personas and walked into the city, disguised just like any one of her subordinates. It was the abundance of sex and drama in the city that made her cheeks turn red and her heart beating faster. It allways was such a thrill to be able to throw off the stiffness of her title and wrestle in the mud just like any other pesant. Her world-weariness was pushed away for yet another day.
All this had been good and well, had it not been for the collateral damage she caused. People were stepped upon, lied to and used under her reign. When they became to troublesome they were either thrown to the dogs or made to leave. Strangely enough her husbands and admirers adopted an ignorant stand and refused to see her ruthless smirk. I guess admitting that you have lied to yourself and refused to see the truth during all this time was a hard pill to swallow.
If you live your life as if everything is about you… you will be left with just that. Just you.
Motto of xxxxTomHParticipantLol, wow!!!!
Well I knew it from before. That doesn't surprise me but what surprises me is that you so blatantly admit it and that your fellow moderators accept to have a moraly disabled fellow moderator amongst them.TomHParticipantLover has his feet high above ground looking for answers in the galaxy
TomHParticipantYou are such a tease
TomTomHParticipantThank you Brandy for explaining the everyday situation of a moderator with multiple forum accounts and handling of the competitions. I'm just a bit concerned since this is not the issue that I was discussing. There is a difference between multiple forum accounts and multiple personal accounts wich leads to completely different implications.
Let me give you a few examples. Let's say it is found out in the square that you as a moderator use three personal accounts. We can call them A, B and C. It can be argued that even in a fair draw your odds to win money, for instance one year achat subscription, in a competition would be multiplied if for instance both A and B participated, even more so if also C participated. Your chances would be bigger than the other participants. Not to talk about the moral dilemma this would bring.
The fact that A and B could have different husbands is not any concern of mine, but if I was in an argument with A, I see a moral issue if B discussed my A problems with me.
I hope you see now that your description of multiple forum accounts is very different to what has been discussed here, ie multiple personal accounts, and the implications for a moderator would be far more serious.
TomHParticipantHi again Ruyka,
there are many implications for using multiple avis as a moderator. Let's just hypotetically say that you have a contest set up by a moderator with economic winns and the person winning the game happens to be an alias of the moderator. That's what would be called cheating.
Another example would be if you have a conflict of any sorts and the same person came to you twice while using different aliases, secretly taking part of both sides of the conflict. That would be morally wrong. Theese are just two examples to try to highlight what you call the problem.
TomTomHParticipantJust a short note here explaining that two topics have been put together by the moderators. The original topic, that was locked down is page 1 to 3 to after Lovers answer to Maron. The second topic commenting the first starts with my question about the first topic. From here on, the moderators are regarding both topics as one and have put them together. I am not a moderator, neither was I told “my” thread was going to be added to the first.
TomHParticipantHi Rukya, ty for your thoughts.
I prefer to call this thread a questioning of the moderation in the said thread rather than attacking the mods. Attacking is a too aggressive word. Moderation should be done according to certain rules, the so called tos, and I'm certain that if there was an attac, it would be deleted.
In the thread you mention, moderation was done, let me call it rough, and from my point of view the rules, the tos, were bent by the moderators to stop critisism of themselves. This is not what I would call soft moderation. Moderation should be done to the best of the community. When moderation is done with personal benefit in mind or from a low moral standard rather than for the good of the users it can be called corruption or if we say it softer, simply poor judgement. Interestingly enough that was what the thread you mention was discussing, and it got hit with meanness.
When it was mentioned that it is very likely that one of the moderators here uses multiple avi's, multiple aliases, the thread was shut down. I agree with Foxxy here above wishing openness from the moderators. The opposite only leads us to believe they have something to hide.TomHParticipantHi Jaynie, my free thought is that the topic got hot because it involved criticism of the moderators, not because it is breaking any rules. In the stopped thread one moderator is forcefully defending another for maybe secretly using multiple accounts in this forum. Something that in itself is highly questionable and from my point of view should be checked into. I have difficulty in understanding the high level of defensiveness instead of an open discussion.
Best regards
TomTomHParticipantI see. Thank you for your explanation. I am happy to be able to bring my 5 cents to the discussions.
I am confused though by the locking of the named topic and the disappearens of the second. A bit too much of silencing if I may say so.TomHParticipantI read with interest a topic, actually an answer to a note written by Lover in the topic that I partisipate in, “Time for a few changes”. And now this new topic is gone and the original topic is locked for comments. What strikes me is that it is a topic that is questioning the moderators of this forum, and that it simply looks as critisism is not tolerated and simply being censored. Oh my!
TomHParticipantDear Covems, I'm glad I have made your life happier. But since you and I don't know eachother, since you have no first hand knowledge about what i mentioned, I think your comment is unnessecarily malicious and surely is based on hearsay from someone close to you.
*** Moderated by Brandybee due to a inconsequential reference ***
My inital sentence modified after moderation
TomHParticipantI admit to be biased in this matter due to foul games from one of the moderators here. I think it was a little less than 2 years ago and as it was I confided to the moderator about matters of the heart, my heart. Just shortly after, the moderator well knowingly acted in a directly unfavourable way to my love and me. I became very upset and told the moderator off in private, my god how i told her off. This only led to that the moderator ”was schocked” about my behaviour and i decided to leave Achat. I haven't been playing Achat for 2 years now and have spent my money in another game where i have been met more friendly. I believe the combination of the big influence by a moderator combined with bad moral is directly harmful to this game.
